I didn't see this specifically...so I hope someone can help. I saw the page on colored flames, and I have bought the flame dye. It worked great. I was trying to get purple...It says what to mix, it does not appear to be that simple though. Has anyone gotten it to work?

it depends heavily on what youre using to create the purple flame, both fuel and chemical-colouring. purple and blue are a bit difficult to get right simply as they dont show up as clearly even when done perfectly

might be useful for the science behind this, there are a lot of different chemicals to get specific colours and different fuels that will show off certain colours better

also remember any chemicals used in your prop will linger in the material (ie if you use a fuel that would overpower the flame dye then it will do so for any future coloured burns)

How did you get the potassium chloride to dissolve? I can't get it to dissolve in the denatured alcohol.
