Posted:I just thought I'd make a useless post gushing about my new grips. For my doubles I previously was just using a couple of layers of regular old PVC electrical tape. This tended to get really slippery if it got any kero on it. Just the other night I purchased some tennis racquet over-grip for my doubles. It is totally awesome and makes all the different, no slippage what-so-ever!

That's all... feel free to congratulate me.

[PS Dragon7 is gangly when doing doubles, apparently]

Posted:ode to my grip
it makes those flipped tricks easier to recover and script
adds control to my fingertips
racquet grip is used
but some would say to use leather is abuse
it has advantages in the wet
some might say antispinnin is less tactile with it
my brain jus melts and cant handle it
so isolate the grip
the area of the stick that you usually have most contact with
off centre styles can make ya spinnin look wild
but without a grip and wicks
my staff katrina could be called just a metal stick

Posted:I've just made a new staff biggrin 2 ft of grip made with... an inner tube. the padding is not very high BUT it grips really well.

1 tube,
cut out the valve by cutting the tube either side
cut tube open length ways
then again in half.

nice biggrin

advice... wash inner tub first to remove the powder from inside that stops inside sticking together.

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

Aren't Haikus 5-7-5...because that is 6-7-5 umm

I prefer limericks myself...

I once had a staff grip called Pete
Who slipped at every meet
He got covered in fuel
Made me look like a fool
When my staff would fall at my feet.

I replaced old Pete with Monique
A staff grip with serious chic
Now I spin like a god
With a staff that's well shod
And write poems that'll make me a geek! wink

Voil!

Posted:Ah you spotted the deliberate redface mistake, go to the Times newspaper office and claim your five English pounds. wink

I ubblove your limericks.

My new staff is sticky and fine,
and I practice with it all the time,
It has a new grip,
which will never slip,
I'm so glad this new staff is mine.

Oh a staff is a man's new best friend,
It should have two big wicks, one each end,
you should spin it around,
and not hit the ground,
Or your staff is most likely to bend.

I did write a rude one before I remembered the PG status of the forum. PM me for it.
