Posted:Hi aquafire!

As Mand said, we were out of town this weekend, though Sunday nights at Riley park tends to be the place to meet.

Sometimes, Mand and I head to Prince's Island park during the day to practice spinning, juggle, what have you....just to get out and enjoy the weather. We post that to the list as well.

Looking forward to meeting you!

~SF~

Posted:A friend of mine has just moved from Melbourne back to Prince George BC and was a bit sad that she couldn't keep learning poi. She started a few months ago, so is a newbie, but pretty keen. Any chance there might be anyone from PG that she could get some inspiration from? She's also keen for a festival, since we took her to one here. Would there be any around that area? Thanks cool

So.. where and when does it happen in Ottawa??

wow. excellent timing --

i'd really like to know how much interest there is up there too. if nothing else, i'm moving to ottawa in a few months, so "after WEMF, at my house somewhere on the near east end"?? i've got 4 years spinning and a couple of paid and unpaid gigs under my belt. if there's anything going on by the time i get there, i'd love to join in. biggrin

We should have a TORONTO thread at the very least :P Just for me!
Speaking of the Shambala festival, a few of our best spinners left Ontario and are still living out there because of that :P

TORONTO SPINNERS DANCERS DRUMMERS AND ANYONE ELSE:
http://www.drummersinexile.com/
br>It's the first time we've had a dedicated site to the local happenings in and around Toronto with relevance to poi, drum circles or just general cool stuff.
The community websites never worked, but now we've finally got some organization together biggrin
See you all at Trinity-Bellwoods next month :P

Definately looking into it this summer!! Depends on how much I'm working though. There's a coupld Newfi spinners coming to Hfx for the summer, one's already here, I know, so if you're in Halifax, there's a few of us around!

Posted::P Maybe one day when I have time and money I will make the trip over there wink
It's one the list of places I'd like to go...
Maybe if my grandmother dies (93 years at the moment, and still going strong, god bless her), then I will be over there at Calgary for a funeral, and I could jump over to BC for a week before coming home...but hopefully that won't be for years to come...

Am I a terrible person for using a death in the family as an excuse to meet with other spinners?
:S

The next 10 days or so are going to be really hectic, as we get ready for burningman, so I'm not sure we'll make it out spinning at all. But when we get back from the playa we'll definitely be around at Riley park. smile

Posted:Hi hula hoop wave

Yay, welcome to Calgary! Where are you moving here from?

Unfortunately, after the next couple of weeks, I think the spinning scene will be dying down a bit for the winter. There may be a few people who spin in the winter, but last year I found it painfully cold and had to stick to spinning socks indoors.

When it starts to warm up a bit in Spring/ early Summer, the Riley Park meets should start up again... lots of people, some drumming, and some fire spinning.
I didn't make it out to a lot of these last summer (I had lots of fire stuff going on elsewhere), but they can be pretty good fun.

But... judging by your name, I'm guessing you're a hooper? I decided this weekend that I difinitely want to learn to hoop. Maybe we should meet up during the winter after all... wink

I might be visiting Calgary for a week at the end of the month if there's anyone interested in some fire spinning.
I'd be pretty stoked to hook up with some of of you crazy CalgaryLand-ites.
