Before you begin doing Poi you should check the total length of the cord. Hold the handle of the poi and put your arm out. With the other hand hold onto the Poi. The Poi should only just reach the side of your arm pit. It can be shorter, or you can have it longer but if longer then this can limit the number the moves you will be able to do.
