I was recently exposed to a group of wonderful fire spinners while camping with some friends. After watching them a few nights, I decided that this would be a great thing that my husband and I could do together. His birthday is next month, and I ordered several items from HOP to begin our journey. He was not with us on the camping trip, so this will be a total surprise! I know he will love it, as we both enjoy fire, fireworks, and he loves to juggle. I would love to meet others in Austin who would enjoy showing us new moves, and making new friends. I can't wait until his birthday, so we can start our new hobby together!

Thanks for the welcome. I bet he would like that. I have not introduced him to the poi yet, his gift is still in the mail. I ordered him a practice poi, then a nice set that has the oval chain and leather straps. I bought him a set of LED balls, and a set of fire wicks, along with the safety video and beginners video. I hope that this will be something we can do together. I also hope it drags him away from his mistress computer, and her luring World of Warcraft! I sure am looking forward to his birthday, but I may break down and give it to him as soon as it arrives!
