so you've gone on a trip and relised too late that you've forgotten your Poi at home heres a thread about random things you have spun because you where a) bored b)had nothing else to use or c)wanted to see if you could weavesmiley

i used two cellphones, hey had these strings attached to them.

not entirely sure who it was but at PLAY i saw someone doing Contact Staff with a 13 foot scaffold pole, they weigh in at about 25 kilos

we had these extendable aluminium poles at my last job with small plastic hooks on used for getting bags of polystyrene packing down from the high racks and they where a lovely weight i used as a staff when i was bored at work.

ooo ooo me too till i hit a fibreglass kayak worth 1750 making a small crack in the side decided to stop after that luckly noone was around

i was sitting at work, bored... (im an IT tech)

Took some screws, wraped some ducktape around it, and used cable ties to attach it to lanyards... LOL

needles to say, everybody in the office had a great time

I used whistles from the Notting Hill carnival as Poi one year..

I used those squishy gell balls you bang on the table to get the lights inside flashing, they were so tiny it was mini poi!!!!

(note: I KNOW where that saying really comes from btw)

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.
