Hard choices to make in reality. So many musicals have so much charm. These are just my choices based on reflecting now. They are bound to change from one day to the next.

And people bursting into song and dance isn't...? tongue

Not really since conventional musicals tell a story. I dont beleieve you can have a musical without that basic ellement. Simalar to music, I dont think its actually music unless someone sings (apposed to screaming or talking down a microphone)

Musicals! People are talking about musicals? I'm both surprised and delighted.

My list:

Sunday in the Park with George
The Sound of Music
Moulin Rouge

(Jesus Christ Superstar is a runner-up but I find it most pleasurable listening to it as an album rather than watching it live or otherwise).

Once More with Feeling is also a runner-up only because, brilliant as it is, I don't think it stands up story-wise on its own without all the rest of the Buffy mythos that surrounds it.

Evil Dead is being made in to a musical....sheesh.

See today I more in a Rocky Horror, We Will Rock you and Rent mood.

Although I did watch Brigadoon on cable the other day. That's a pretty nice old one. Pretty much anything with Gene Kelly puts a smile on my face. That guy was strapping.

Gene Kelly is such a hunk I had to include one of his although Anchors Aweigh does make me giggle. Did you know he did a dance on roller skates?

There are so many great songs from other musicals.
Fave musical songs
1 -Diamonds are a girls best Friend - best song EVER!
2 - I wanna be loved by you (Some like it hot - does it count??)
3 - ummm... hard to narrow it down!

Sarah Kennedy on Radio 2 at about 7.15 does a musical songs spot!

(stage)
1 - Chicago
2 - Return to the Forbidden Planet
3 - Phatom of the Opera
