Hey, just came accross a video by a rather talented juggler. Probably one of the more entertaining 3 ball routines I've ever seen wink

Nah, it's crap - if he'd done it with 5 balls and not moved at all (a bit like a meccano model) and added a bum catch it would ahve been great! wink

When will people lern that juggling isn't there for people to enjoy, it's for geeks rolleyes

Oh I dunno... regardless of movement, damn impressive.

And he wasn't completly stoic. His legs jigged a few times. wink

After hearing a lot about the Bliss video and only being able to find links that insisted on 'streaming' the vid (which I refuse to do) I recently found a downloadable link and got to see it.

I liked it! His routine is obviuously not technical in the style of 'sport juggling' but it's obviously highly appealing to the audience.

I respect the fact that he's taken a moderately difficult 3 ball routine, polished it and got to a point where he's probably the most famous and highly paid juggler in the world.

Having said that, and despite the fact that I think the critisisms of Garfield and the 'sports jugglers' are probably based, at least partially, on jealousy; I would very much like to see Garfields 5-ball parody.

Does anyone have a link to a downloadable (ie click and save, not a streaming one) video of it?

(and, out of interest, can anyone explain why so many online vid hosters are going the way of 'streaming only'? it's starting to piss me off- I don't mind a streaming option but see no benefits to anyone (including the hoster) to eliminate actual downloads).

https://www.lpbk.net/jugglemirror/BlissDiss2.mov

Mirrored due to the popularity of the video crashing Jason Garfields server, thus he put a streamed video on YouTube.

ditto

I totally understand what you mean. GoogleVideo, Utube and many others are doing streaming only. And yes... its f**king annoying angry

Dave, why dont you just get a program that will capture the video for you? I should have a look into that anyway for my own benefit. There are soooooo many sites with streaming video that I want.

mplayer is what you are after - I'm not sure about it ripping google video, but it will rip streaming real/quicktime/wmv etc files to a file. you can use it from the comand line thus:

mplayer https://url.com
-dumpstream -dumpfile filename.ram

i think may be a way of maintaining ownership of your material.

i.e. its harder for someone to copy your routine if they are only given the option to stream it rather than download and watch at their convenience.
