I`ve tried poi only a couple of times so I havn`t really practised with `em.
My question is what should i learn first, whats the basic steps of poi-ing?

thank you in advance!

Just throw together some sock poi for practicing.. easy to create, easy to replace.. fill it with rice or millet or some other grain and it's easy on the impact.. very versatile and you can adjust the weight.

Definition of poi- A Hawaiian food made from the tuber of the taro that is cooked, pounded to a paste, and fermented.

Ahnold discussing poi - "It is naht a toober!"

Don't try learn with the ones a friend of mine made- fire poi with a 10 cm steel tube in the centre (he doesn't actually *do* poi, so I don't think he realised quite how daft they were)..
I wasn't quite stupid enough to try them lit, but I did manage a mid-air collision just above my head (something I've never done with a less lethal set) and nearly gave myself concussion..

If that's okay with you?
