Ok, so - I searched, didn't really find anything that would tweek the problems I'm having with the low turn.

I think my issue is swinging my left poi under my right arm -I can't get that to happen without wrapping them together.

I can't seem to go behind my back for any move without having issues.

Are behind the back moves possible for everyone - or do a lot of people have problem?

I've read the FAQs - they just don't hit my chord.
Well - my left arm is very stiff, it has 1/2 the flexiblity as the right -it seems, to me, that I am not able to work it far enough under my right arm, they're too close...perhaps I need to just forgo my left under my right and do my right under my left?

A possible left-arm-exercise regiment is in the works, it's holding me back...I seriously enjured my left arm when I was little and the doctors have always told me it might cause a problem one day.

I'll try doing it the opposite of how it's instructed and see how that goes

Thanks, though smile

I suggest trying one arm at a time.
then picking up one poi.
Doing it with one arm, then the other.
then two poi.

Oh flubber! smile

neep - my left arm doesn't like going behind my back the other way, either...curses.

well, I suppose I'll have to take my Dr's advice and therapy this thing!...15 years later, lol.

However - as for reversing directions while moving, I've come across some way of doing it coming out of an overhead/giant butterfly - don't ask me how, it was an accident. smile

*edit* - ok, maybe I'll try to explain it and then someone can tell me what it's called?

Swinging going forward - into butterfly, giant butterfly - on the down/inside swing bring the arms straight out to the sides in an "onramp to the interstate" sort of motion and with a twist of the hand in the front swing - you're in reverse.

what's that called?

Ok, this worked smile ...

twisting and leaning to the left while bending at the knees gave me just barely enough flexiblity to get my left arm back there.
