so, in my physics lecture today, the lecturer started the day by saying 'good morning.. im not in a good mood today, so if anyone is being rude, im going to ask them a question.. if theyre wrong, im going to ask them to leave..'

so about halfway through, some idiot up the back was talking away, so jeff, the lecturer, stops, slowly gains the attention of this guy, then asks him 'what is your favorite color?' to which the guy replied 'blue'.. promptly followed by 'no, wrong, get out of my lecture'

i couldnt stop laughing, it was too close to 'blue.. no green. AAAAAAGH!!!'

"you know there are no trophys for doing silly things in real life yeah pete?" said ant "you wont get a 'listened to ride of the valkyries all the way to vietnam' trophy"

One of our french teachers once made us translate the Dead Parrot sketch. Very odd.

I just bought the box set of the films, but the Holy Grail dvd stops working midway through, and I didn't find out until it's too late to send it back. frown

By what name are you known oh great enchanter?

-There are some who call me, Tim

To the north there lies a cave, the cave of Caerbannog. Wherein carved in mystic runes, upon the very living rock the last words of Olfin Bedwere of Rheged make plain the last resting place of the most Holy Grail!

-Where could we find this cave o Tim?

Follow.

But follow only if ye be men of valor! For the entrance of this cave is guarded by a creature so foul, so cruel, that no man has fought with it and lived!!
Bones of full fifty men lie strewn about its lair!! So brave knights if you doubt your courage or your strenght, come no further for death awaits you all! with nasty, big, pointy teeth.

one of my favourite characters in the movie^^ Tim the enchanter

I will not buy this tobacconists, it is scratched.

And the first question is for you, Karl Marx. The Hammers - the Hammers is the nickname of what English football team? 'the Hammers?

Exterior beautiful English church. Birds singing, a hymn being sung. Suddenly, sound of a high-powered car roaring towards the church. Screech of tires as a huge open-top American car screeches to a halt outside the church. The bishop leaps out. Behind him (as throughout the film) are his four henchmen... vicars with dark glasses. They wear clerical suits and dog collars. They leap out of their car and race up the drive towards the church. As they do so the hymn is heard to come to an end. Sound of people sitting down.
Cut to interior of church. Vicar climbing up into pulpit. Cut back to exterior. The bishop and his vicars racing through the doors. Interior of church. Shot of vicar in pulpit.......

I can't believe no-one saw fit to mention the Lumberjack song ...
Very classic Python that, and it had my sons in hysterics every time they watched it! laugh3 laugh3

The best Pythin movie though is of course Holy Grail (although mum never really understood the ending where the police turned up and arrested everyone!). Many of the classic lines have been mentioned already but no-one said about the Llama/Moose credits. I fear this may be due to incompetant movie theatres who seperated the travelogue skit that was supposed to precede the movie - "and now let us return to Venice and more of those f**king gondola's!"

The same thing happened to the animated christmas card story that originally preceeded the Life of Brian. It ended up being a "hunt the angels" free-for-all which is why the opening credits of LOB have the angel getting shot and falling down - it ma still raise a chuckle but it's even funnier when it followed the christmas cards!

and of course the pirate accountants that invade the Meaning of Life... they were great at connecting random things!

"A llama is bigger than a frog. It has 2 eyes, 2 ears, and a beak for eating honey,"

Gumby flower arranging - "First take a bunch of flowers - tulips, begonias and pretty chriss-san-thee-mummmmm-mimummmmms"

The boys love it!

too many to choose from...

Not quite an ism, but the fish slapping dance is wild.

On the subject of frogs and llamas, is that part of the same skit in which a sheep becomes a luxury aircraft???
