I really dont care how the animals are treated, I dont know any family farmers, and while polution sucks its something well never be able to stop. Humans adapt, ya know... If our world was over polluted, if we were getting attacked by super germs, or if a bunch of farmers lost their jobs, we would find ways to get around it. Perhaps, its even the natural order and necessary for the evolution of humans... Machines/Factories/Industry were steps forward, ways to supply products to the ever growing population. Pollution is a bypruduct of that, perhaps well just have to figure out ways to treat pollution and/or branch out into other planets... Necessity is the mother of invention and all that... Perhaps Im going off on a bit of a tangent but you should get what I mean... Eat more meat!!!

Let's turn those old bridges we crossed into ashes.

I agree icon. The super strains of germs that will cause epidemics and plagues in the near future are necessary and will vastly lower our populations to actually sustainable levels again. The world has a way of balancing itself out... and in order to balance out again it will need to kill off most of us. Unfortunatly I am very bleak about being able to change things... people just wont listen until they are directly effected.

And when they are, it will be too late... and a lot of us will die. About time too. Can't wait, even though I'll probably be one of those that die. I gave up on idealism... Im a realist. And realistically, these initiatives aren't going to change anything until its too late.

So eat your meat, and live in the moment and don't worry about the future. Its stupid, and arrogant, and exactly what is inevitable because we are human.

Enjoy! *End sarcasm*

totally agree with ICoN, i don't care what happens to my food before i eat it just so long as its not pumped full of toxins first. this looks like something my vegan ex would like. i'll send it to her presently. bacteria aren't a threat to us, it'll be a virus that does us in. one day, very soon, nature will evolve a strain of virus that wipes us off the planet for good. i just keep hoping....

How did i guess? wink

I'm sorry to have to tell you this guys but you were born into hypnosis, your parents and grandparents are under the same hypnosis and you don't really believe what you just said.

This link is in this forum because this is the Video Forum, and it's a video.

Americans, you have been lied to for years, you have been the subjects of experiments like 'what happens when humans consume genetically modified food'. Your government is ussing you before spitting you out, your countries economy is screwed, you have more innocent blood on your hands than any other nation in history and to be honest the US is the laughing stock of the 'developed' world.

I agree that the world would be a better place without so many humans and i agree that america is doing a great job at being the first to go smile

You know the USA has had BSE for years ~ far worse than UK had it ~ but have been covering it up for years. Or was that only in the news in europe.

Enjoy your burgers boys, the 'meat' has been dead over a year and will quite possibly give you CJD ~ nice bit of rotting brain inside your skull. Yummy

You can wake yourselves from your sleeping life, or you can DO AS YOU'RE TOLD by the powers that be.

Hmm, wonder if you three voted republican?

But what does this have to do with spinning poi? Healthy Body, healthy Mind my friends. Or to put it more plainly... Eat bad, spin bad.

i'm not even gonna start on meat. here's for your progress.

your hands are awash in blood, and you don't know it. a trail of tears. you stand at the end of a trail of tears, staring forward, and you can't hear the screaming of the billions, the whipping posts, the diseased blankets, the slave ships awash in bile and blood, you justify your life of progress in nihilistic ignorance.

"Machines/Factories/Industry were steps forward, ways to supply products to the ever growing population" tell that to the cherokee nation, tell that to the slaughtered oglala sioux children. the knife is in our OWN hands. a stab every time you hand someone your fake paper money, your ideas of indebtedness. passes out drooling

Yay... I was about to care but every time I get smacked with 'knee jerk' hypocritical Amerciahate I change the channel.

There are huge systemic problems in the US. There are ways in which we can help. But every time one of you UK liberals blames my whole country or calls it a 'mistake' I take it as a smack to the thousands of liberals here trying to make a difference.

I guess it's easier to sit in front of a computer screen and blame all of America than to take the time to actually blame the specific problems.

I'm not actually as pissed off as I sound. It's just getting annoying being told that it's my country's fault when there are more people working against some of the very causes you hate here than anywhere else in the world.

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

just because you're not a hippie doesn't mean you're not liberal. i know how my meat is cooked (i never eat fast food) and that's good enough for me. just because the cow was sad in life doesn't make it bad for me to eat it. okay, i'm now going to back out of this thread slowly because this debate can only end in tears.

Hi Matt, nice videos! Sad but true...

[IcON] >Humans adapt, ya know
[i8beefy2] >The world has a way of balancing itself out...

I'm afraid the world (Nature) doesn't care about humans - nature will always balance it self out, true- whether humans survive or not though is irrelevant. Its impossible to destroy nature - but it's easily possible to destroy the environment that sustains us. We might think we are in control of our environment and can shape it to our needs - that is an illusion. sorry. I don't want to have to tell my child that it has to live underground because my generation was too stupid to live sustainably. I find it quite astonishing that people dont realise that. Maybe matt's right, and a large proportion (i'm not saying all) people of the western world are too brainwashed by now ...

Im with ya Sparkey... This thread isnt meant for people like me. Its really meant for people who get a kick out of telling the world we're ruining the future. You know, you talk about brain washing but I dont see how this is any different, just because you feel your views are more correct.

There's a whole host of difference between brain washing and knowledge. One comftably hides the truth while the other is brave enough to admit it

I'm really surprisd to find someone of a reasonable young age who thinks that it doesn't matter, ever heard of "we don't own the world we merely borrow it from out children" it's the truest sentiment there is. How could the populous continue if they have no where to live?!

We're destroying the environment that we and other animals need to live, so in other words, we're just screwing ourselves and others.

we have to always remember in these discussions that we *are* nature. just because we're more intellegent than the rest of the species on the planet doesn't mean we're not part of nature. do we have the right to destroy ourselves? i believe we do. who's to say we don't have the right to destroy any other species on the planet? if the kangaroos wanted to take out the zebras, i'd have no problems with that. of course, if they wanted to destroy us i'd be a little miffed, but that's just survival instincts, and if they had the means, we really wouldn't have a say in it. people always remove themselves from nature, but they're just as much a part of it as any other species.

fair enough, we are a part of nature. i can agree to that. thats about all i agree too because we are also human and not animals

i would dearly love to go off on a rant. but im too hung over.

heres one i wrote earlier

Written by:

We what seperates us from the animals is that we are aware of our potiontal to evolve and so seek to build on it.

We have a choice.

There are many peoples in the world that live with the land, others that live off it and others still that live at the expense of it.

To compare a beaver destroying a breeding ground for salmon to a species thats destroying the breeding ground for all life doesnt work because their to many orders of magnitude apart.

Thought is evolving and more and more people are aware of the impact of the choices we are making.

Some time in the future, enough people will be aware enough to act and if not... there wont be anything left for us to argue about.

[Old link]

Which is big but its a good read and alot of whats potenitally going to be said in this thread would be a good addition to it.

sparkey. you have a right to destroy yourself and only yourself as far as im concerned because you - supposedly - know the difference between right and wrong.

Good movies. I actually have seen Meatrix many months ago. Yet I never thought it as an anti-meat/vegetarian propaganda. It merely says to support your local farmers. Which is not bad, you might be paying twice the price but what you buy will taste better and you can be happy about supporting an alternative way of farming animals.

***

On second movie: It is so unfortunate that knowledge as obvious as in this movie is new or even unbelievable to many people. In cold war days USA was afraid to start a full scale war. But now there is no Russia anymore. So it launches wars against countries beyond their control and reforms them to exploit them in a larger scale.

So what can one do? Vote for democrats? BS! Democrats started wars as well. During Clinton's presidency USA attack Yugoslavia. Also Kerry, the not-bush candidate, never said he would retreat the troops from Iraq or he never claimed waging war against Iraq was wrong.

Again what can one do? Well, for one join marches against war. They happen all around the world wink.

cheers,
