Hello everybody!
I'm ellie, a 14 year old girl from Surrey. I bought a set of fire poi a few months back on a trip to london after being inspired by the awesome pictures in the gallery! I've been addicted ever since and grasped the 3-bt-weave in a matter of days thanks to the help from you guys in the IRC channel. Some of you may remember me... I was signed on as smash. Why smash? Well, I was spinning one night in the garden and got fed up that I couldn't do a trick, so I flung a poi into the air. Guess where it landed!

Yep, smashed throught the greenhouse roof!
That wasn't too popular with my parents, so I made myself some sock poi out of old school football socks.. I really should buy some nice fancy ones.
So I can now do the 3bt-weave, butterfly, giant butterfly and I'm just practicing the TTN & backwards 3-bt weave althought it seems pretty tricky - any tips would be a godsend

Green house looks good, if you like lots of ventilation of course! Now remember to tape your light up to your ceiling in your bedroom while you practice socks indoors, I have so far nailed a couple of lamp shades and a lovely candle holder, ah well the price of progress!

So far in the couple of months I've been learning poi I've killed 2 lampshades, a teapot, and in the making of poi I have snapped a sewing machine needle, sown my sleeve to a poi and sprayed lentils (they were the weight) all over my lounge because I forgot that stretchy fabric and straight stitches don't mix.
Note to self :- Always uses zig-zag stitch on stretchy fabric!
