So i guess iam suppose to introduce myself. Where do i start? well i live in Killafornia ( or cali in laymens terms) I am a fire spiritualist who believes that all life can be found in, related to, or in some way associated with the flame, the light, the bringer of life. I say this because my life was being wasted away with drugs, sex & going through life with no purpose before I found the true calling of my life, fire arts. I use fire staff & i also use double staff as well as a three way staff. I am also a fire eater & fire breather. I beleive that karma is the ultimate judgement & that we (as human beings)have no room to judge others.
I could go on for pages describing myslef but i do not want drag you through this introduction. It is nice to be here & i hope i have many great conversations with all of you.

well, "it is either and enigma - or some sort of bug."

sorry - your intro title just reminded me of that quote from mark twain - it is from his short story version of the adam and eve story, where adam is trying to figure out the exact nature of what he eventually discovers is his son (Cain I guess).

and there was no waste if somethng is learned...

anyway, welcome to HoP! welcomewave

my story?? which one- i have many. Maybe you would like to hear about how i got into fire arts? Our maybe you would like to hear about the burn scars covering over 1/3 of my body. Our maybe you would just like to hear about my many inspiring stories. I don't know- u tell me what you want to hear.

as for the color pink- it is a bright & noticable color. It has a very light feeling to it. Pink is not my most favorite of colors but if it works for you pink, then u go with it.

well- i guess what started it all was when i was recovering from the car accident i was involved in (the same accident which is resposible for the burns on my body), the physical therapist introduced me to poi to help me get back my arm & fingers back to normal. I thought , at the time, that i was never going to be able to regain the feeling, control & stregnth i once had b4 the accident. At first- i could barely hold the poi in my hands, let alone do anything with them. But as time progressed, I was doing more & more moves & really making progress in my recovery. Then , after doing this physical therapy, the therapist brought me a pair of fire poi. He said, "You will never be afraid of fire again because now you will control fire, you will be fire. and you will be free of this pain you are going through". This touched me in a very profound way, and it was kind of profectic in the sense that i was once burned by the flame and now i will create & be the flame. Since then- i have progressed to other fire props, staff. double staff, devil sticks, & even a three section staff. My fire spinning , to me, has become a very spiritual & sacred way of celebrating the fact that i am alive. I also try to express this way of thinking in my fire dancing & in my everyday life. I hope that my story is an inspiration to others & to you.

Well, among other things...am curious as to any physical therapist introducing you to fire spinning! Wouldn't that make them extremely liable? Or are you writing this as a nice piece of fiction?

a therapist giving you poi that is perhaps the best thing ive ever heard... the first poi i had were a couple of quarters wrapped in black tape...the black tape was the string and the handle as well they hurt.. peace

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potato's.

sorry- i have a hard time typing as it is but i will try to remember to do the whole "paragraph" thing. As for asking me personal questions- Don't worry about it- if i was offended- i wouldnt continue to talk about it (the accident). AS for my therapist giving me fire poi, he gave them to me AFTER he felt i was good enough (i could do a number of moves without messing up) to not hurt myself & he gave them to me as a friend, not a therapist (nice piece of fiction my @ss..... spank). I think that therapist should give their patients poi & things like it (ie staff, devil sticks, whatever) to encourage movement & recovery.

another quick note about my therapist handing me fire poi- He made sure that I was well trained in fire safety before i ever lit my poi. He was totally responsible in making sure I was safe when using fire props. Trust me- when i first started playing with the flame- i was really afraid of something going wrong & me ending up in the burn unit again. But i have yet to seriously burn myself (knock on wood).
