Hi guys,

I've been wandering round the site for a while now, but I only got round to registering today, cos I just got a move I've been trying for a while after reading one of the forums (3-beat weave w/ double staffs - it hurts a bit, but it just about works)

I've been spinning for a good few years now, but only seriously for the last 2 years or so... staffs only - I've got too much going on to play with more than one toy - although I sometimes juggle and do really bad poi.

The rest of the time I'm mostly playing with music - I'm doing a PhD about getting computers to jam, playing drums, writing wierd electronic music, doing soundtracks for shows or just chilling and having a listen. Recently I've been listening to a bit of jazz, some electronica, lots of dub, and come classical, but I listen to most things, really.

I'm living in edinburgh, which I'd recommend to anyone - my life's taken off since I moved here. I'm also getting involved with the Beltane celebrations up here, so maybe I'll see some of you on Calton hill this year...

Looking forward to meeting you guys!

happy spinning,
dave

Yeah, I don't buy clothes any more, I just run firepoint and have parties. It's much cheaper, and you don't have to go to the hassle of choosing things. And when someone says "That's a silly hat", you can say "It's not my fault, it's his"... ubbloco

This week I saw the ultimate air guitar system, and I'm coming back with crazy ideas for synchronised staff/music shennanigans... ubbidea OOoooh yeah!

And my leg's almost healed from last PK practise, so I should be up for more punishment soon. Might even be back on thursday night... biggrin

(But seriously, I'll have a look for yer hats)

Did Megsy give you the sign?
If not, you shoud go forthwith and poke her with a particularly pokey stick, used mainly for poking, and poke her with it.

It is a good sign and I did dun stoled it meself.

Unless you dont think highly of that...
In which case Meg did it.

On the plus side, I think we can halve beltane's bodypaint bill by getting the red men a huge tanning lamp, and then they can be really red without all that troublesome greasepaint... Just like this: redface. But that might stop them from doing this: ubbrollsmile

Ah well...

I'll be down in a couple of minutes for an hour or so, but then I'm off to knockengorroch to get ready to do some serious cooking... I haven't found anyone who can give you (or me!) a lift out there, but you can prob'ly get a bus to Dalmellington and maybe be picked up or something...

Yes mate, that would be wicked. There's traditionally meets on mondays if you're through, but the meadows are always there. And the pubs seem to be open every day of the week...

Drop me a line when you're coming!
