Hmmmm............

Patience is lacking in spades. Ugh. Add to that my team lead taking forever and a day to run through a workflow that should take no more than 5 minutes, on top of the 20 minutes of explination I gave him why I need him to run through this workflow (testing software, donchyaknow)....

I think I should have stayed in bed this morning....used the day to take a very relaxing hot bath, and dream of Wales...

Hope other folks are having a better Monday than I am......

Rather scary day.

Anxiety is not my friend. Nope. But it seems it wants to be, whether I like it or not.

End result? Rather non descript dull pains in my chest. Blah. No history of heart problems in my family. Mom has high blood pressure, but that's a new ish developement. Grandmother has high blood pressure, but only since she turned about 65, I think.

Went to the doctor for tests..well my first doctor wouldn't see me...told me to go to the ER. Second doctor did an EKG and took a chest xray.

EKG is fine
Chest xray results tomorrow.

Blood pressure was fine, perhaps a bit low.

Can we say anxiety, anyone? Blah. I like to think I handle stress fairly well, but perhaps not.

Anyway, I'm ok. Just...had a bit of a scare.

Muuuch better day, all in all.

I found out that the vacation I took at the beginning of the year was taken out of roll over time from 2002/2003, which means I've only used 12 hours of my limited 2004 vacation, which means I still have 13.5 days of vacation left! Wooohooo!!

It makes my vacation planning a bit more enjoyable. biggrin

What is posted below is my opinion, and only my opinion. If you disagree, that's fine...you're entitled to your opinion, as I am mine.

There are times this country drives me insane. Lately, it's nearly every day with the fire storm around gay marriage. What's the big deal, anyway?

Orson Scott Card spoke up on the issue:

https://www.ornery.org/essays/warwatch/2004-02-15-1.html

It's really sad. He's one of the leading writers of Sci Fi, yet he's as close minded as the President.

In part of his essay, he says that marriage is in fact open to all. There is nothing stopping a gay man from marrying a woman, and nothing stopping a lesbian from marrying a man. mad mad mad

Uhm....Sorry, but I am not repressing my sexuality for anyone. It's really not a pretty sight.

AND WHO THE $#@% does he think he is, telling us we can get married, but to someone of the opposite sex?

He missed the point entirely. It's about EQUALITY. Our constitution was supposed to guarantee equality. He doesn't think it's the court's place to put laws in place to protect minorities.

UHM, HELLLOOO?? What happened during the Civil Rights movement? It initially took the courts to pass laws to INITIATE legislation. It is the COURTS' job to protect minorities from discrimination.

He touts family values and morals...based on faith and religion, I presume.

The entire idea of Separation of Church and State went out the window with the Gay Marriage fire storm. I don't get it. This country is founded on Freedom of Religion, yet the main argument against Gay marriage revolves around religious believes and religious "sanctity" of marriage.

OK...so what about those of us who don't consider ourselves Christians? Is the so called Moral right going to force their beliefs upon us? That's what it looks like from where I sit.

*ahems* Sorry...but this entire issue gets my blood pressure up quite a bit. It's weird sitting on the edge of becoming a second class citizen. My "President" has put my sexuality before my nationality with his call for an amendment to the constitution.

I have a feeling he may have shot himself in the foot, politically with this one...and I hope so. I'm ready for him to go.

Hey Spit, you know that I am entirely in support of gay and lesbian marriage, but I am going to say one thing that has become painfully clear to me in the last year or so since I left the states and have begun seeing it from another angle.

The US constitution garuntees freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion.

Good point, vanize. Good point indeed.
YAY for international phone cards!!!! They will make the next several months tolerable for me!

I JUST got off the phone with Mand. ubblove She said they got snowed in three days ago, and everything is white, and beautiful! Absolute coolness.

Of course, tomorrow, she has to do a bouyancy check on her boat, in the water, in the snow. Can anyone say Hypothermia!? Mind you, she's done this sort of thing many times before, but still...there isn't too much that's appealing about river sports in the middle of winter.

OK....it's 8 am on a Saturday, I was up at 6:20 am, and I RARELY get up that early on a Saturday, for any reason....love does crazy things to a person, I tell you!

And while I could get up and enjoy the day, I think...I'm going to go back to bed, and enjoy a few snuggles with my cat.

SF, floating

It was actually a lot colder than 0*C- we had to smash the ice on the lake before we could test the boats! Brrrrrr!

Yeah, tablets in the back of your throat isn't good. I keep taking my epilepsy tablets without water, and getting them stuck- and they really burn. frown Not good!
