Howdy yall!

Wish I had my old intro thread, but will have to make do with what I can.

Interests: Poi (OF COURSE!), dancing, playing the violin, swimming, listening to music...and the list goes on... wink

Occupation: Well as of right now I'm working till I get my bill paid off to the uni. I work at a local vet office as a kennel tech. I love it alot and get to work with animals. I am responsible for feeding/watering, medicating, bathing/dipping dogs and cats.

What I Want to be When I Grow Up I would like to see myself working at a zoo with different types of animals. I would love to be the person showing them to children and on tv shows.

Been spinning since October 2002

Been using fire since January 2003

Will continue to spin til whenever... biggrin

I hope to see some old friends and meet some new ones here! hug

confidence in your abilities does come, you sound like you are a really caring, dedicated animal carer, so don't take any crap from your boss, know in your heart you are good at what you do, and will become even more so with more experience

learn to relish in your acheivements (big or small), even an acheivement like today when my boss baited me, I didn't rise to it, I carried myself with professionalism and I didn't come out feeling dejected or stressed! is an acheivement worthy of celebration

I think the fact that you work with animals is worthy of celebration everyday, I couldn't do it, it'd break my heart, you are stronger than you think

have I ever asked if you want to be a vet 'when you grow up'

wink biggrin hug

and what on earth is a 'gumbo'? smile

Reading that put a huge smile on my face see... biggrin

I did want to become a veterinarian, but after working for a vet in a vet office and seeing all the crap you have to deal with on top of treating patients, I would rather pass on that idea. I think I am more comfortable being the one to help the vet instead. Plus Vet school is very very expensive and very very time consuming. I would go crazy ubbloco

Oh and Gumbo is Cajun food. Louisianna to be precise is the state known as the Cajun state to most.

Gumbo comprises of okra, peppers, rice, and whatever meat you choose. It is kinda like soup and is spicy and hot.

recipe for Shrimp Gumbo

I really love the disclaimer at the bottom of the site. ubblol

Update so far...

Kaleb, one of my bro's is now on his way to the big sand box (Iraq). He will be gone for about a year and will be stationed outside Bahgdad(sp) at an airbase. He is an aircraft mechanic and works on all the C-130's.

Work is going ok so far. I'm currently looking for another place to live so I can have my two cats and dog from home. I'm looking into a one bedroom house or something. Won't find out what is available til next month.

Saturday I'm getting my hair cut and re-hi-lited with red tones again. It looked sexy last time I did it. biggrin

Maybe I can get a pic of it and put it up on my intro page or something.

Well gtg to bed now. TTYall Laterz! ubblove

Well I turned 22 March 10...Heard from Kaleb in Iraq and he is doing ok. His wife who my family doesn't really care for is supposedly pregnant with his kid. I don't believe it til I see proof. (she is known to cheat on him and has been caught by Kaleb)

Found a one bedroom apt where I can have my animals. I get to move into it at the end of July beginning of August.

I have been really tired lately. I used to go to bed at 10pm and get up at 7am, but now I feel like going to sleep at 8 or 830pm and waking up at 7am. Don't know what is going on. I just havn't been feeling too well lately. Or I just really really bored. LOL!

Gas prices are at an all time high here in the states. In Oklahoma it usually is the lowest of the nation. Not this year. $2.09/gal. and is gonna prolly go up more due to the BP oil refinery in TX City, TX exploding. 4 people died and the cause is still being looked into. BP is one of our main oil refineries so that is gonna make the price go up even more. I dread what it's gonna be like in the summer months. God we really need to keep working on the alternative vehicles.

I've gotten my bedroom more organized like I like it now. Took out all the boxes of stuff in my closet and bought some rubbermaid storage tubs instead. I can stack them alot better, and cuts down on the clutter greatly!!!!

Well I'm gonna go to bed now. Night yall! ubblove

Hiya Aurora wave happy belated 22nd hug, and congrats on the new apartment!

Saw a report on the BP explosion this morning. Tragic that 4 people were killed, but in a way, it could have been a lot worse. I agree on alternative vehicles..

Non-relevantly, but ironically, my tv exploded soon after. Literally.

(That save a horse ride a cowboy song.. lol was at a birthday part on the weekend and that was definitely the song of the night- got played at least 5 times, and a couple times back to back.. together with the costumed folk going off, it was pretty entertaining smile)

Howdy yall!

It's been awhile since I've been online! HoP for that matter! ubblol

Well the 24th I start moving my stuff into my new apt. and then the 25th I will have my electricity turned on and will officially live there. Dio helped me spray paint my black metal futon a shade of silver. Trying to make my thrown together furniture in the living room all match best I can. HEHE!

I will soon after get Molly my dog and Salem my cat from my parents. Dio wants me to take one of his soon-to-be barn kittens and raise him as an indoor cat. He named him Poe (Edgar Allan Poe).

I've been trying to apply for jobs at OK State. Secretary jobs to be exact. I'm getting more and more ticked at working at the clinic and putting up with my boss and his temper. I have two positions I'm praying to get. Secretary position for the Psychology Dept. and secretary position for CEAT Student Services. Both pay about $1200/month plus benefits that I won't have to pay for. Like Dental and Optometry. I really am in desperate need of seeing a Dentist. I'm worried about my front bottom teeth and gum line down there. frown

My brother is still doing ok over in the big sand box. He is hoping to come home sometime in September. If he does then he won't have to go back til sometime in like May or so. But as everyone knows plans change like the wind and he may have to wait to come home til later or so.

Puk big hugs to you!!!!

Hi Gita!

Thanks Patrick hug

Puk: Sorry about that. I've been a bad lil angel lately...Not been online but maybe once a month whenever I remember and am able to.

Regular Unleaded here in StillH20 is at the moment $2.17/gal.
Diesel: $2.39...My hometown its almost $2.50!!!

My parents have a diesel pickup. It's very xpensive. My dad has been riding his Harley D. to work and back, because the gas mileage is better on it than our truck. Plus gas is cheaper to buy for it that diesel for our truck.

I got my key to my new apt today! It is a nice lil apt. They just put new tile in the front entry and in the bathroom. I'm gonna go change out all the light bulbs and install the energy star ones. (the coiled ones that put out more light, use less electricity, and don't put out that much heat like the old skool bulbs).

I just got done packing a few remaining items in some suitcases. I'm gonna take my stuff that I am not in immediate use for over to the new place. I'm so glad I'm so organized and decided to put everything that I don't use regularly in storage tubs. This makes my job easier whenever it comes to moving! Plus it looks way better having matching colored tubs that old boxes that will, after time, start to get weak and fall apart.

I'm gonna move stuff early in the morning and late in the evening whenever the sun isn't at its hottest. Today the temp got up to 102F with a heat index of 106F! It's so unbearable, that even swimming in a pool is not much relief. The only relief is A/C! ubblol

I'll try and update somemore later yall.
Well I'm off to bed since I plan on waking up early to start moving stuff.

~Toodles Yall! ubblove hug

Well so far my life is a sucky one. I had been searching for a new job from my tyrant vet, and found one working for a document place (fax/copy/laminate/business cards). Started begining of Nov, and was layed off the end of Nov. He said "it was because our personalities didn't click" wtf?
Soon after that (monday nov. 28) I went to the state employment commission and filed for unemployment, made an app online with them to do job searches, went to two other employment agencies here in town and signed on with them. Westaff and Express Personel. Westaff is mostly a temping agency, well same day I finish all materials (wednesday Nov. 30) I have a temp job for OK State Univ as a unit assistant for Electrical Engineering Tech. starting from thurs. Dec.1 til Dec.9.
It isn't much but I'm trying to make it. So much crap to deal with. I have a feeling I will find something at the end of Dec. or beggining of Jan. *crosses fingers and prays*
My new apt is great! I have my dog Molly and a new kitten Fin. Other than that I'm just trying to live. Havn't gotten to spin in forever and miss it.

hug <---For all my friends out there in HoP world

Hey Y'all!

I have wonderful news to report! I finally have a new job and one with benefits!

I work for Oklahoma State University in one of the departments. Engineering Distance Education dept.

I help mail out lectures from certain courses that are put on disc for out of town/state/country students. Correspodence to be more exact about it. They mail/emial/fax in their homework/exams to us and we log it into the database and then send it on to the professors here on campus. I love it so far. It's fairly easy and so not so stressful like it was at the vet and copy place. I'm happy!

Oh I so miss spinning, I havn't gotten to in a bit because of being busy finding a job, been waaaay too windy, and we have been under a fire ban since October! Stupid wildfires! frown

I have started attending a belly dance class though and I am doing pretty well in there! I can't wait to get better and then use my poi or better yet I could then get fire fans/fingers!

Hopefully when the wind kinda dies down I can go out and spin my non-fire poi! weavesmiley

I miss you guys and it sucks not having internet at home, but now I have internet here at work I just have to make sure everything is caught up before I surf the web and schtuff.

I really miss getting to hang out with our fire troupe....Everyone kinda went their seperate ways in life, I guess that happens to everybodies troupes. Maybe I can take some more footage/pics and post them one of these days. wink

True! I forgot about veils and wraps and such biggrin

Don't think I could ever use fire poi with the pretty caberet outfits...don't think being a human torch is anything kewl. Unless I made mine out of cotton or wool or something, but don't know how pretty it would be then. *shrug*

First things first though....Need to get better at the Belly Dancing stuff first. I have found out I feel like I did when learning poi moves for the first time. You know how you are when you learn a new move for the first time and you are so happy! But then you have to learn how to connect moves together...I'm in the stage of connecting belly dance moves together and learning their transitions. *sigh* It brings back wonderful memories of learning to dance with the poi.

Hey all!

I've been so wrapped up in this whole wedding thing lately! Got music taken care of, catering, reception and church reservations, cake, gown, etc.

So much to do when planning a wedding. Got registry stuff done as well.

I miss not getting to do poi and I havn't gotten to go to Belly Dance classes, because I havn't had the extra money to pay for a membership to the mini gym here on campus. I will be getting some help with that here shortly because I miss not getting to work out and miss not getting to attend BD class.

Dio is now living in Greenville, TX. It's NE of Dallas by about an hour or so. It's a 5 hour drive to get there from Stillwater, OK. I go and visit him one weekend a month and he visits me up here one weekend a month, so it helps pass time by until October. After we get married then I will be leaving to live down there with him.

I am up here still because not only because it wasn't financially feesable for me to move down there right now, but also I had just gotten a wonderful job here at OSU and didn't want to have to leave them after a couple months. I also want to stay til we get married that way I can have more experience here at a Big 12 College and that will help me out big time when I start looking for another job down there in TX.

Benefits are nice too! I have contacts for the first time in my life and it is awesome. Still getting used to them though as that takes time I guess. I also got my teeth cleaned for the very first time in my life. I have never had dental insurance before and to go in without insurance is too expensive for me to afford. I am happy!

I miss Vern though! But we will be husband and wife come October 28th! The last saturday in October. We were going to get married the 21st of October, but that is OSU's homecoming weekend and that wouldn't work out very well.

Love yall! biggrin
