Posted: Just a quickie to say thanks to everyone involved for a FAB jolly today (and yumpitous crepes, sarnies and brownies!!). Any chance it can be a regular (monthly?) throughout the summer?
Met some lovely people, learnt some new moves and realised just how many really good spinners there are out there.
Hope the HoP photo came out OK and that you get it posted sooooon - is there any way of labelling it so we can start putting names to faces?
Big thankyou again!

Cass, thanks for encouraging me to come, and sorry I never got as far as talking to you.... a mix of shyness and missed opprtunitys got in the way. Next time.
Felt so good to be with people who had a passion for poi like me.
Thankyou for all who contributed to organising and making a wonderfully inspiring and special day... when can we do it again?
Posted: What a weekend, I've gotta say that it was the best way to spend me birthday.
Sorry I didn't get to talk to everyone, but much like catboy I get a bit shy.
I'll be seeing some of you this weekend for PIP , so till then so long and take care.
Ohh and everyone who went to the party Saturday night ......hello....did any of you get sunburnt too???
Big love
Lisa

Posted: Wow, satuadays PIP was a truely fantastic experiance. though i wasnt there for long enough to talk and meet all you lovely jubbly people properly, those i did meet were so incredibly nice!
the whole atmosphere was amazing, there was no hostility between strangers, the surroundings were brilliant (a whole little hideout all to ourselves ) so my congrats to the organisers for doing such a good job.
though personally i got too yellowbellied to really spin it was so nice to see so many spinners, all of different sorts and abilities, side by side, learning and appriciating each other.
C@ntus, Ros, Cass- you guysare so lovely and it really made my day to spend time with you (too brief though it was), though i didnt get to have a crepe i hear they were v. yums (mmm crepe. . . )
Glass, Noona, Durbs, Thistle, Ellie, Dom- though i hadnt spoken to you guys much before satuady, you were all so nice and freindly and generally top people that it was amazing to spend time with you (especially under that blanket, nice and walm)
Chris, john, matt- your all completely bonkers, its brilliant lol i hope the beaming balls didnt prove too much damage (now it dawns why they are the embodiement of evil). . and the list goes on
anyway, hopefully ill get to see all you guys and more in the near future to talk, spin and have a unforgetable time with, untill then. . .
happy fluffy hugs, lolli x x
oh yeah, glass i should have taken your advice for the exam . .it sucked, oh well . . .)

Posted: Thanks to everyone who organised the weekend. A big pat on the back to all of you. Myself, Mini-thistle (aka Kymic on this site or Haze/Hayley elsewhere) and all the Nottm crew had a wonderful day out. It was great to put some faces to names, but I was a bit shy and didn't talk to as many people as would have liked. Also was so busy watching all the different styles that i hardly picked up my poi.
Kato, great to see you, as usual. Love watching you trance out with your eyes shut spinning away.
Cantus and Ros, you guys look sooo sweet together .Hayley couldn't believe how quiet you are in real life Cantus! I know what she means
PK, Good to see you and thanks for letting me play with your new toys.
Cassandra, What can I say? You are a sweet, genuine person and I'm honoured to have made your aquaintence.
Noona, loved the new hair, great to see you again and you're welcome to come to Nottingham anytime for those fire-eating lessons.
Glass, Only just put your name to your face, had fun in the contact juggling circle. And thanks for letting us snuggle in your blanket.
Dom, I really like the flags you made, thanks for sharing the design.
Jonathan, Don't know your HOP name but you made Hayley's day. You are welcome to come to Nottingham for a visit when your exams are over.
Orange, great to see you again and fantastic news about the wizard thing (sssshhhhh). You are Hayley's new hero!
Chris (i think that's your name) with the springer spaniel, You gave me a pair of poi to play with and in our hurry to pack up and leave they got thrown in the bag with everything else, sorry. I'll bring them with me next time.
Everyone else that I met and who's name I forgot to mention, Cheers for making my weekend a happy one.
See you all next time, Onelove, Thistlefirepixie

'How' I though, can begin and end. ?
...with a few thoughts about the weekend...
You all know as well as I do that it was more than just a bit of fun. It gave us all a direction to aim to and to play, think and Be as one.
All of us in some way shared a common theme far aside from technical expertise. We shared the energy of a communal dream and did our stuff in whichever way we pleased.
For me though, the day started early and bright, waking up in a tent to the morning chorus and that soft dawn light. The house was full of sleeping souls; so peaceful and sweet.. and the rich aroma of several pairs of feet..
Creeping around looking for my toys amongst a small ocean of girls and boys I found what I wanted and went outside and saw the clouds... and nearly cried.
The cool fresh dew was bliss between every toe and the breeze filled me with energy. But the clouds above were a problem.. they had to go.. and quickly.
When the world arose and came to its senses and blurry eyed munchkins began to wake, the whole notion of rain made folk pensive and my spirit began to ache.
I thought and fought and sought and found with my head, my heart and my All. What I discovered was something really quite profound; through, of all things, a sock and ball.
As the day progressed and we gathered in the park, the mood was fine but for one notion. The clouds in the distance, like a menacing shark; threatened my quest to find stillness in motion.
But it was my friends I was really thinking of at the time. I could see the anxiety in so many eyes.. eyes that could only see clouds. I chose not to look at the clouds I could see..
and put a theory to test that, beyond a shadow of doubt, has proven something to me.
I dont want to give too much away. There are those of you who will have 'heard' what Ive had to say, and to those that havnt.. no disrespect..
...you had a relatively rain free day.
All my love
K
ps: I dont have regular access to a pc any more (as you may have noticed) so I'll drop in when I can. C u at PIP this w.end all of you`s thats goin..!!
