1) look for point of view (PoV) vids on youtube, they help a lot i find.
2) slow it down a bit, gives you more time to work with and will hurt less when you do hit yourself
3) learn kicks if you havnt already, they should help your aim and get you to learn speed control to reduce the pain when it hits
