Just had a random thought would spinning in space be like? or would it even work?

how random indeed cool

would guess it'll be tricky to get the poi rotating to start with wink

Just oneself, naked in space or can one have a ship?

Given air, a reasonable temp and an anchor point I reckon you could spin, even create a bit of g force for the residents of your poi grin

As long as you have somewhere to plant your feet it should be easy. Easier than doing it on earth in some ways, since there are a hundred little ways you normally need to compensate for gravity.

well what would each be like? just floating in space it might cause you to move as well but there is no telling

Unanchored, spinning an object would torque you as well, yes. Just like if you throw a ball in zero gravity you'll start moving back.

Someone needs to tell this to NASA asap!

And wieghtless, you can throw the idea of footwork out the window, and certain stalls would be really easy.

The only luck is bad luck.

Shut up before I stall my poi up your ass grin

But also consider little floating fire balls from drops of fuel coming off the poi. While visually impressive, you might be dodging a zero-g mine field in the attempt.

Okay guys check it, I've got a serious link and not just some stupid attempt at internet humor...

This should answer some questions, at least on how stuff burns.

interesting... Huh, kind of enlightening. I would have liked to see that video that he got. I think some moves might be harder as well. like some stalls, probably wouldn't be able to switch directions as easily considering many moves are done because we get used to gravity and know how to use it to make our poi look pretty. But orbitals would be freakin amazing in space.

Alright everyone, the mission is clear: we need to pool our resources, buy that for sale shuttle FireTom mentioned in this forum and fly our asses into orbit so we can find out conclusively.
