Posted:Would sewing reflective tape be an effective way to keep tape on clothing yet being able to machine wash them or is there a proper alternative to reflective tape that you can sew on?

Posted:yup you can buy reflective tape for sewing on to clothes.

It will probably stand up fairly well to cold machine wash but you might want to put the item in a washing bag first

Posted:I think it would be kind of cool to have, like mood ring type clothing. I could see some really cool combos emerging on some one while they were spining. It might even change around Fire... Ooh that would be way cool. sorry I had to rant on bout that for a few... What do you think?

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

Posted:Hahaha, I was just talking to my housemate about them, I always wanted one of those hypercolour t-shirts as a kid, I just had a badly tie-dyed t-shirt that looked like one.. but stayed the same colour.

Can always hand-wash stuff if it's not for regular use, if you really want to be careful, it'd stay on no problem, even if your sewing's not that amazing.

Posted:I made a crazy pair of pants using a ton of reflective tape. Most of it has a thinner groove near the edge to sew in. It makes the clothing stiffer, but totally awesome looking.totally possible. Just keep a few extra needles on hand, My machine jammed up a few times and had needles fly at me.

Don't mind me, just passing through.

Posted:lmao, what does it say when my girlfriend sewed hers by hand... and than I did it again better. Also, just go slow, make sure the fabric is where its supposed to laye and isnt being cumpled by the tape. Pins do work, but I found if you use them sparingly and use some tape as well, it works better to hold it on. Back on topic, I've washed the pants a few times with no ill effect. If you want, velcro is a good idea and a way of making them more customizable. Different colors for different events and such. Maybe solid black pants and black velcro and just velcro little reflective patches on where ever.
