OK. So here's the plan. I'm coming to Australia. I'll be coming on my own time with about 5 weeks to spare. I'm going to Christchurch for 3-4 days to visit some dude I know...
It will probably be around september-ish that I'll be going. I need to balance this against a planned trip to South America for some Spanish immersion that I desperately need.
Otherwise, I want to spend about one week in each place. That means four cities, five tops. I'll want to go exploring while I'm there. I can make side-forays, but nothing too extravagant. That means if you want to meet me, you might have to travel a bit. I understand what a pain that is; I live in a large country, too.
What four cities should I pick? Why? Where do you live?
There is one very important person, other than Malcolm, who I want to meet. I want to meet Taj. He's a true symbol of the spirit of this community and he's adorable.
(Valura, honey, we need some photos, pleeze.)

Flash Fire knows how to get ahold of Brainstorma, and Ade and Rozi. She makes it easy
If you're staying there, then you can sleep in comfort knowing I warmed the bed up for you!
In Melbourne is also Brenn. Love him..and he's easy on the eyes. lol
Bender's lady Bonnie is a delight and soooo lovely there.

Well...
After seven years, I finally have come home. I mean to Home of Poi. Well, I'm not really at HoP right now. I'm actually sitting in Malcolm's living room with Jesse playing with the toy cars I brought him. But I will get to see HoP tomorrow.
I also realized something about living in California. The most active countries for HoP are Oz/NZ, England, and the U.S. Well, I live in the U.S. and I'm about equidistant from both other active countries, which are reachable by non-stop flight.
Which means that ALL of you need to come visit me in SF.
Well...
After seven years, I finally have come home. I mean to Home of Poi. Well, I'm not really at HoP right now. I'm actually sitting in Malcolm's living room with Jesse playing with the toy cars I brought him. But I will get to see HoP tomorrow.

Your original itinerary had you coming to Sydney at the end of your trip...are you still passing through this way in December?

Yup. I was only in town for about 25 hours; Sydney is actually my last stop on the trip.

SF is a cool town. It's the only part of CA I would consider living in.
rural Oregon was the only other place in the US I would consider living so yeah - I rate SF highly
and if Obama does what I hope he will, then perhaps I might not even care too much about spending my tourist dollars in the US.

I'm at Home of Poi. For real. Like Nell's over in the next room and the warehouse is just off my right shoulder. I've wandered through in a daze looking at this massive amount of toys and yards and yards of fluorescent fluffy fabric.
And so at long last, after seven years of being a member of the site, I finally made my Hajj to Mecca. I didn't slaughter any animals, though (yet).
Now, Bender, just try to give me a wedgie, but just know that if you reach for my bum, I will consider that an advance.
Tonight I'll upload some pics of Malcolm and me clowning around Christchurch today.
