Yeah I watched it on the news. I was pretty amazed! The technology and machinery ability involved just blows me away.

.All things are beautiful if we take the time to look.

That would be major.

Sadly from my experience you really need eyes on the ground for that.

'We're all mad here. I'm mad, you're mad." [said the Cat.]
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "Or you wouldn't have come here."

True, but research for getting those eyes on the ground is already well underway. Still, it'll be quite a while before we're ready to get there... It's not just technological limitations, it's physiological and psychological as well. I remember reading an article a while ago that talked about the stress and boredom the explorers would endure, especially on the way to and from. Not to mention adjusting to Martian time...

good article. i do believe at the moment its also uncertain what length of time an astronaut could spend in space before their bodies would be incapable or readjusting to the much heavier gravity than is experienced on earth.

the longest time spent in space was by a russian and the only reason he maintained his muscle strenght and bone density was hours of exercise every day. if you consider that half an hour of physical activity a day is reccomended on earth imagine how many times you would have to multiply half an hour to replicate the same amount of stress on the body in an atmosphere with no resistance.

it has been considered that eventually humans that leave earth on space missions may never be biologically capable of returning, at least not without a 'earth suit'.

now please excuse me but i have to go play monopoly smile
