Just the other day Chutney and I were running around with flame throwers, rocket launchers and spy outfits. Then we played TF2 wink

Ooooo - is it worth a purchase?

I've been enjoying ET:QW for a while, is it significantly different?

I don't know ET:QW. TF2 got me with it's easy game play, the ability to blow something up within 5 seconds of playing, lack of character development and great cartoon style. I wasn't a great FP shooter fan (I get sea sick!) but this one hit the spot.

Battlefield Heroes is the next game I'm looking forward to. Slightly similar and free!

Durbs its awesome. Get yourself a free steam account and you can download the game for $19.99 which works out about 13 pounds inc VAT. Or can you buy it in shops but its about 20 quid.

TF2 really is the best team based multiplayer FPS I've played, and I've spent quite a bit of time on these things over the years. Excellent aside from the way it plays it's designed with such style and a sense of humour that it's very difficult not to enjoy yourself smile

Shame I'm offline at home for the next week (bloomin' BT frown)

I like Team_Fortress... but its no COD4 biggrin

The existance of flamethrowers says that someone, somewhere, at sometime said "I need to set that thing on fire, but it's too far away."

Hmmm, I suck, as Will can attest to.

First go mind you - but it's much quicker/more frantic than ET:QW, much more run-around-shooting anything that moves as opposed to squad based stuff.
Though it could just be me being rubbish wink

Only one way to find out - goodbye social life biggrin

Don't worry Paul, I still suck, but you learn which classes are good for which job. like when you were a heavy and were mowing people down, you wont last long unless you got a medic backing you up cos your an easy target for snipers. I was lucky when I learnt how to play cos I had Bov and Chutney in the room with me, both are seasoned veterans!

Are there any larger maps, or are they all cramped mental frag fests?

I'll figure it out sooner or later, was regularly sucky at ET:QW, still am pretty bad actually, but at least can go for longer than 2 minutes without dying.

And the rocket launcher seems impressively ineffective...

Looks nice though and is pretty easy to get into smile

I pretty much only play tf2, it's definitely the most fun fps I've ever played. though despite the fact I play it allot doesn't mean I'm good.

Stab then sap! I'm glad I'm not playing against him!

Durbs, dying a lot is a 'feature' of TF2. It's meant to be a bit quicker then everything else out there.
