Where to start.

Fristly look here, (just reading the title is ample) https://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/film/article3810782.ece

As some of you may know the recent Bond film has been rife with accidents, all involving the Bond car in some way or another. Well as also some of you may know I was onvolved in a very nasty accident 3 weeks ago that left me quite beaten up. see here https://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=16883&l=4d8aa&id=500122678 (its the public link so you can view it even if you aren't on facebook).

Well the awesomeness that is Jo Rhymes reminded today of the several accidents that the bond set has had and now there is a belief of a 'curse' involving the car. Anyone who seems to drive it has an accident or injury somehow.

Here's where it gets interesting and scary....

I work for a company called Arri, which along with Panavision are the worlds leading film camera rental house and we got the new Bond contract and so are supplying the cameras for them for the whole shoot. Well about 6 weeks ago I was at Pinewood studios helping sort out some of the equipment and guess what theres them rigging up the new Aston Martin for the second unit stunt shots in Italy.

The focus puller there is a friend of mine and after seeing my drooling mouth at the fantastic car he asked if I'd like to drive it around the studios, going admitedly at a steady 5-10mph that was a very exciting 4 minutes smile!!

And to cut a long story short several weeks later I have a nasty collsion, in which I am VERY lucky to be alive, let alone walking.

Could this be the curse, if so I hope its been lifted!! I've shed my share of blood I hope!

Just curious of other peoples opinion on this and of curses and 'jinxs'.

I was driving in the slow lane of the M25 north of London, a high sided lorry was in front of me, there was a broken down lorry in that very lane of the motorway (who had been there for a good 25 minutes without the police moving him!! Which is very dangerous at rush hour!!) Anyway, the lorry in front of me was blocking my view of the parked lorry, i don't knwo what was happening in front of him because he didnt see it till very late and suddenly swerved out of the way, it was only when he did that nearly hitting it that I saw the lorry in front of him...and that it was stopped. I panicked and jsut hit the brakes and skidded right into it. Last thing I remember about half a second before hitting was looking at the speed clock saying about 58mph.....

Oww. Yhank god for seatbelts and airbags

good to know you're mostly alright, i think the conversion makes 58 m/h over 100km/h, could have been a lot worse!

Ouchie... almost the same thing happened to me a few years ago. An Italian transporter driver (not quite lorry size but bigger than a white van) had missed his turn on the Autobahn, in a place where there was no hard shoulder. So he decided it would be a good idea to reverse back to it (!!!). As in your case, there was a lorry in front of me who swerved out at the last second, but with the transporter going backwards I couldn't brake in time. Also, not having ABS and the roads being wet, the car pulled out to the side and I decided to go for a frontal impact instead of the car turning sideways into the faster lanes...

No airbags though (v old car), so similarly bruised face, seatbelt bruises all down my torso and round my tummy and a black eye from where my head kissed the indicator wink

Anyway, I don't believe in curses. I believe in bad driving, not keeping enough distance and bad road maintenance. And the bond car wasn't even involved anyway.

True, but also (unpublciised) there has been several accidents over in Panama and Italy, which have involved people who have been in the car and crashed later or had something else happen to them, one of the choreographers had a sudden heart attack, who was supposedly healthy. A gaffer had a stroke too. I'm not saying these are definately linked, mainly because I'm not very superstitious, but still, is cause for a think!

Maybe they're setting people up to cause drama and promote the film wink (by the way, if you look at how many films are dedicated to a deceased member of crew, it's not too uncommon. Especially given that there are such large numbers of people involved in making them, what with Daniel Craig's hairdresser's manicurist and the 3rd-most-important special effects manager's kid's nanny...)

I believe that jinxes work as long as you believe in them.

You've been sooooo lucky... 58mph are about 80kmh - enough to cost your life...

So lucky lucky lucky hug Are you celebrating your second birthday? I guess you should. Is that incident having any other impact on your life/ the way you look at it? Keep us posted smile

the best smiles are the ones you lead to wink
