Okay, I was gifted with a new ring. It's a titanium and sapphire tension mounting.
The titanium is really strong so the stone is held in by the strength of the titanium alone, without a traditional mounting.
I take it off and look at the stone all the time. It's so lovely and because of the mounting, I can see the full shape of it, which is kewl.
And it is *wicked* light! I looks so heavy, as most metal rings are, but since titanium is also know for it's lack of weight, it feels like a tab top from a soda can. It's very deceptive!
I am completely in awe of the science behind it, and then get lost in how pretty it is.
It's really pretty and nifty for nerds too!

FRD...I saw a life sized Harry Potter in Legos. There is so much about Legos that rocks...I can't even begin to explain.
Except Legoland. That place is just scary.

video games and comics are both the prime domain of geeks, lets face.
Does anybody think that in recent years hollywood has become over run with geeks since now there are so many movies coming from said genres.
Whats next a Warhammer 40K movie?

I should have known better since I used to work in a comic and sci-fi memorabilia shop when I was younger

Pele, I am so stoked that someone else has a tension ring, my engagement ring is one, I had to get it custom made in New Zealand as I couldn't find anyone in Australia to make it up.
Did you go through about 2 weeks of "my stone is going to drop out" paranoia?
There is a slight possibility that I am not actually right all of the time.
