Hi! welcome to HoP!
Just a friendly warning, we're all a little crazy here, so don't be surprised if a tank starts rumbling through your thread. There's a bit of a discipline problem going on in our army at the moment!
How good is the Labrynth?! Have you seen the Dark Crystal as well?

It's not a discipline problem Clarence - it's that General Rouge - she's encouraging it. It's almost like "sorry about your picket fence there - just following orders guv"!! ubblol

wave hey Jana - welcome Home!
Labrynth & Bowie is a good movie and soundtrack - and it's even got some contact in there eh? Dark Crystal I didn't like anywhere near as much.

I have several large jars of the stuff. I actually like it... a little. And don't tell anyone I admitted to it.

So I just got back from a show in the mountains, and I took my LED balls with me. I can see how easy it is to become addicted to this!!! I didn't want to put them down, and people kept asking to play with my balls. ooooops (Not what I mean!) When I woke up this morning all I could think about was my poi.

Oh, I guess i kind of forgot one thing, definately nutella. I haven't had the pleasure of trying the others. biggrin hug

So, I just did my first burn on Saturday night. It was amazing!!!! I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be. We were out at a show where they did a little burn jam and hula hooping. I was just spinning my LEDs and another gal offered her lit poi. Great time, gotta get mine now!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!

True understatement!!! Maybe obsessed.
I think the greatest part of the experience is a friend overheard some people saying that I was smoother than the one there that had been doing it for 3+ years. Big boost to the ego!!! biggrin

So, I've been spinning poi for 4 months now. And I have a "gig". biggrin
I'll be using my LEDS and a friend will have her LED Hula Hoop. It's at a local festival, and we will be on stage with the headlining band!!! There are usually a few thousand people around for this thing, just thinking about it I get kind of nervous. redface
WISH ME LUCK!!! weavesmiley kiss

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

So, I've never been on stage before. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated! I already plan to have relax a little by having ONE beer before, I don't want to get sloppy or anything. I don't know if I should look at the crowd or focus above them a bit. Ahhhhh, I'm a little scared! redface confused2 shrug

thankx

just spin like you would if you were practicing by yourself at home. enjoy yourself! and i don't ever really look at the crowd but i'm usually so tranced out in the spinning that i don't even think about it.

Everything went pretty good, until I got flashed by a friend. She's usually not like that so it shocked me and I kind of fumbled for a second. eek
It ended up that there were between 4-5 thousand people out there when we went on. Another band wants us to perform sometime for them! YEAH!
Thanks for the support!!!! hug
