Many of you wont be familiar with the band "One Dollar Short", they sing a song that has the chrous "Where will you be this time Next year?" and that got me thinking, this time last year i never would have dream that i would be where i am doing what i do living how i live!!! I had it all planned i was there for two more years!!! but life has a funny way of changing the plans that you make! And i am even more excited as to what lies ahead for this next year!!!!! i could end up anywhere, not only physically as location but in all areas of life!!! Sorry these thoughts have just given me a massive boost of optimism!! i just had to let it !!! so heads up out there to those of you in a tough place right now, you never know whats just around the corner!!!!

Assuming fate smiles on me and doesn't throw me any curveballs, next year, I will be right where I am now...except I will have:
1) Delivered a baby
2) Seen an abortion being performed
3) Watched a sick child die
4) Watched a sick child recover
5) Stood through countless operations
6) Worked with crazy people (psychiatry)
7) Worked with healthy people (family medicine)
8) Worked with some really cool neurological problems
9) Watched a sick adult die
10) Watched a sick adult recover
11) Grown a year older, but hopefully many years wiser.

Next year, I will hopefully be working with the City Schools with a regular paycheck (woo-hoo!). I'll be driving finally, so I can drive myself to friends houses, instead of having to ask the parents to drive me.
I'll have a new cell phone plan so I don't have to worry "Shit! This is going to take a minute!" (as of now, I have 29 minutes left until July 31st).
And hopefully I will be getting straight A's in school. (Well, one can hope, right? )

The best laid plans of mice and men...
My best laid plan for this time next year is to be nearing the end of three months of exploring Africa (climbing kilimjaro, going to victoria falls, diving in one of the rift lakes, sailing to Zanzabar and perhaps around the sechelles, going to some of those famous Capetown raves, and hiking the wild coast just for starters) with one the most amazing and beautiful woman I've ever met (who I happen to be totally in love with and has been in the peace corps for the last couple years) and gearing up for a return to Texas just in time for the Burning Flipside festival.
Please please please don't tell me this isn't going to happen! It's all I'm living for right now!!!

This time next year I will have been exploring the wonder they call India for 6 months with the man of my dreams (mr fraggle). I will have been wandering around Australia and meeting many fiery folk, I will have been playing with oranutans in Borneo and I will be looking forward to Island hopping in the Philippines......

wow...this time next year i will still be in school, working my ass off for no reason and no hope of escape(2years, 1month, 18days to go)...seperated from 2 sets of friends(DC and London) in a country which i don't exactly love so far...im so jealous of all of you! my lifes goal has been to go to india...so long til i can!..enjoy it!!
