Ok, so this is an idea ripped from contactjuggling.org - but could be fun to spice up some videos here and make people think outside the box...
With the joy of YouTube.com, anyone with access to a camera can pretty much put a vid online
So basically, the idea is a Theme or Challenge is given and then people have 2 weeks to get something along those lines online, it's quite interesting to see what different stuff comes up.
For example on CJ.org one word was "Travel" so your video could be spinning on a train, walking along somewhere, an entire routine based around the "Wheelchair" move (Dom's I believe) etc.
Or you could try and film an entire 2min single staff set WITHOUT letting go of the staff at all; no throws, no contact. Crazy I know...
Thoughts?

how about submitting it to a poll in social chat? then take the results at the end of the day? and NO voting for your own vid
failing that, everyone who entered could make a suggestion and the best one gets picked?
just trying to work out the fairest way of doing it: and isn't coleman supposed to be posting a vid sometime?

but i do think they should get increasingly harder, nature's fairly easy when you think about it
...on the herding cats front, it's got to be easy when you're on a bloody big horse threatening to trample them all... or a dog... a giant dog.....!

As creator of the thread, I hereby claim total autocratic powers and create the rule that:
Whoever puts in the first, viable entry (not just a bodge job) gets to choose the next challenge
Notice that it's a challenge. It doesn't have to be a one-word theme - it can be "maximum of 20 seconds", make a video without spinning your prop, any kind of restriction or elaboration.
Or just a one-word theme.
It's all good.

yeah, um...
we have some lovely footage now but like i said, it didn't really suit the theme.
expect a new video in my thread sometime not very soon.
it has a smallboy in it (with fire)
and a bambam (with sticks)
and a me (with some cool pants)
official excuse section:
we're out every night this week
we're away for the weekend
i need to read some stuff
i need to take my computer to a shop next week so they give me a new one with a screen that won't burn my eyes.
this thread rocks

Durbs - Nice vid. Very creative work from your nature troop, i especially liked the snake branches and various forms of juggling....
Non - Wicked idea.. the ultimate organic poi! And they're edible! I'm so impressed the actually worked you get my vote hands down... by the way, you could've ate the grass, it's ok you know...
Mr. Widd - I'm afraid you're automatically disqualifed not just for using one of the most appaling breaches of the basic rights of aural appreciation but a crap re-mix of it as well.
Which is a shame cos with the sound off, the spinning was top notch, the locations and editing good, and the girl on her stilts looks like my girlfrends best mate. By the quality of your stalls, you're not mr chut in disguise are you?
