Hey all, new to the forums and to poi...

Saw people fire spinning at a party i went to a couple of weeks ago and have since become obsessed with it. Went to the Strawberry Fair in Cambridge and they were selling practice poi at a few stalls, so obviously i bought myself some! So have been learning since Sunday!

So far only very basic things - but i've only had them a day really, so lots and lots of time to play and practise over the summer - stuck in Somerset with nothing else to do for most of it so i'm sure the online lessons and videos etc on this site will be very very useful...

Can do such things as weave, 3bt weave, dodgy 5bt weave, butterfly, bth butterfly, chasing the sun, corkscrew, 180 weaves, low turns, reverse weave, thread the needle, high spilt butterfly... but they are all quite sketchy and need LOTS of practise as i can't do most of them for long before it all turns into a big mess!

So yeah, nice to meet you all

It's not very tidy yet - but i got my friend to show me various things, i know how they feel, now it's just practise and making them neater before i go in search of more things to learn! I really exaggerate the movements at first so i know exactly what i'm doing, then tone it down - seem to work anyway!
