Hello,

I just picked up poi about a month ago, so far I'm in love with it and can't wait till the day I'm ready for fire.
I'm slowly working my way through Michal Kahn's Poi Spinning book; it should keep me busy for a long time.

I'm 22 years old, I live in Alberta, Canada and am working on my B.ED. right now.

Anyway.... HI!!

hi! welcome to HoP!

So tell us more about yourself, we're nosey. There's a template at the top of the main intro's forum if your stuck for what to say biggrin

Good to see more ska fans though, i get bored with all the electronica that goes on around here. There's a few punk/altern fans in here too, which i'm all for, but ska's so much easier to dance to!

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Hmmm.... More info hey....

Here's a Favs list:

Books: 1984, The Alchemist, Angels and Demons, Ishmael, A Mango Shaped Space

Shows: Family Guy, Scrubs

Movies: Amelie, Office Space, Dodgeball, Hackers, Waking Life, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, I Heart Huckabees

Comedians: Mitch Headburg, Jerry Seinfield and Dane Cook.

Music: Death Cab for Cutie, Amanda Rogers, Sublime, Mars Volta, The Postal Service, Atreyu, Lamb, Operation Ivy, Portishead, In Flames, Avenged Sevenfold, Coheed and Cambria, Story of the Year, Head Automatica, Big D and The Kids Table, Bouncing Souls... and so on and so on. I have decided to give in and finally buy and ipod. I can no longer rationalize buying cds when I already own over 500... it's just getting ridiculous.

And finally; a short story that says more about me then anything else I've said so far:

One day I was walking through the trails in the bush when I can across a caterpillar crossing the path. It dawned on me how much it must be like suicide for them to try and quickly scurry across the path without getting trampled. So I picked up the caterpillar and went to put him on the leave on the side of the path. As I went to place him onto the leave I was pleasantly surprised when he instead decided to take a bite out of it. I then spent the next five minutes feeding a caterpillar.... It was adorably hilarious to watch and would recommend trying it.

Nope...

A Mango Shaped Space is about a little girl with a disease called synethesia. The disease causes people's senses to cross wires in their brains so for example she would not only hear a sound but would also see a flash of color as well.

It is a real disease but it doesn't sound too bad to me! I wonder what they would see when listening to music.... mmm.... Zepplin.

It isn't always sound and sight though, for example one man in the book would taste peanut butter whenever he heard his wife's name.

Weird hey?
