short and sweet, ive been on the old poi-balls (as my stepmum calss them) for a good old hog of about three years.

gramted when i first started i went craze over it, but now the moves are generally all there its good to no that i can whip em out evernow an then to have a good time (my poi-balls)

the weave was the first thing i learnt (much to my dismmay i however found that bypassing a lot of the basic moves hindered me a great deal later on) i recently aquired a girlfriend from somwhere (i forget where) and let her have a play, i in fact lent her a my pair of beloved sock poi-balls to practice with.

I'm sorry, im putting off the point, it stands, dear readers that while self tuition took me substantial time to acheive the level i swing at now, it took the gf 3 weeks to get to my level.

3 WEEKS! ubblol

yes i know i should be happy for her..and i know its good shes taken a keen interest but come on, thats kindov depressing!

so really, is this fair??

(if u feel you are about to type something like 'thats really good..' or 'be happy, shes doing poi..' then i strongly advise not, i beleive most are allergic to a swift kick up the bottom) ubbrollsmile

oh, i love her realy..awww ubblol hug

never ever EVER, poke me with that thing.

just my little joke. As always.

gah, my cousin is like that... it annoys me... poi is my thing, and she got it fairly easily... and a girl I know was the same with Diablo, picked it up easily, and then had the hide to gloat.

Yeah, we should be happy for them.... but it makes us feel terrible and useless!

Reminds me, on the weekend I met a guy who has been spinning for 3 months, he can do the 5 beat weave, but not the 3 beat... 3 months of spining and 5 beat! eek

actually... I think he may have been taught the 3 beat on the weekend... he was picking things up quickly.

But, how long did it take you to learn 5 beat?

it may have taken a month to learn, but dont get me wrong, i didnt know what one was for a couple of years! (probs cuz i only got the old poi out generally in summer time..my bad)

But the person who got me into poi and taught me the original 3 beat didnt know what it was! when i showed her after all that time she was like...

'looks the same as a three beat...'

i was NOT impressed haven taken all that effort learnin it!

I completely agree about the spare time thing. I was talking to dixie about it the other day, as his job allows him to spin for most of the day, and low and behold...he's really really good. I've become quite good in the past 6 months of properly doing poi(:D*looks smug*) but i've only managed this as i do poi sooo much of my time, same way i do staff, in summer last year i did nothing but spin staff and by the end of the summer i could do jesus's, doubles flowers etc.

damn rite its not fair, i bought a staff and was all like " ooooh look at me with my staff" and my sister picked it up and she was literally a goddam pro, you wouldnt believe it. She was all modest saying "well, you know, i have a talent for these things" looking all smug and stuff.

My mother later told me that Rhonda had been a majorette when she was younger ( i was too young to remember that), so she had a lot of experience using batons. THE CHEAT, IMAGINE PRETENDING SHE HAD NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE spank ubblol tongue

yeah man, circles get boring, try doing it though your legs when they are on fire, that'll give you something different to think about. ubblol ubbrollsmile bounce bounce2 bounce bounce2

oh, so we're gonna play that way? lol show me a line that isn't a circle of infinite radius...

or a point that isn't a sphere of 0 radius. wink

circles are dead man, its all about the lines

dut, ever seen a straigth line? i give u if it kept going u could use your infinite radius theory, but what if there are ends to the line? and you try and draw infinity man, its hard.

arclength doesn't have to be infinite, just radius. trust me, EVERYTHING is circles, even when it's not circles. lol.

but to get even further off topic and silly, drawing infinity is easy - just don't die. :P just like "back to the future", you've got to think 4th dimensionally -- who's gonna be around when you say it's done to tell you the line isn't long enough?! it's not the people who told you it couldn't be done, that's for sure... err. unless they were wrong. haha. ubbrollsmile

but people dont need to be there to tell you its not long enough for it not to be infinite, though i havbe to correct myself and say a draw an infinitely big circle or infinitely long straight line, as a circle can be percieved as infinite

what's the topic again tongue

ok, my brain just fell out my ass, Its weird for you to try and comprehend infinity, its like thinking about reincarnation, coming back but not being you, being someone else, its very weird. What IS the topic again? juggle

reincarnation is soo much more comprehensible than infinityy, and the concept of infinity isn't as weird as comprehending it, thats where the idea for the total perspective vortex.

im not talking about reincarnation itself, its the thought of trying to imagine that your soul has come back on this earth, but even though it is you, it wont be you. Who you are now wont exist, it will be someone else with no memory of this life now. anyhoo, off topic.

maths is confusing

right ok, infinty works a little bit like this, they so say that the universe is expanding indeffinateley in all directions yes?

so infinity on all sides can be considered equal distances, and equal distances as a measurement of length on all sides would have any point in the universe having this never ending espanse in all directions..

this subsequently means that at all points in the universe are the central points,

and i, having realised this am proud to say that i am at the center of the universe ubbrollsmile beerchug

and further, what if the reincarnated soul did come back nito a time where it is already living somewhere else, this has apparently happened, where the same soul is living in two differnt times and people/beings.

if a soul can come back, whats to say a soul cant come back in any period of history, they do not seem to conform to any physiacal or dimensional law,

does this explain soulmates? a deeper conection due to the fact the souls are indeffinateley similar or even the same at the core?

mmmmmmmm cake smile
