Hi all... I am a complete newbie to poi, fire twirling and anything/everything related. In fact, I'll only even see it in real life for the 1st time next Friday (making it down to the Moon Fest on north side of Brissie).
Anyway, this is me...
Name: Pat... but Pogo to those that know me well.
Location: Logan City, south of Brisbane, QLD, Oz.

Occupation(s): Computer Programmer. Worked for myself from home for 2 1/2 years, but have recently had to get a "real" job.

Toys: Acoustic guitar, Classical guitar, 3 electric guitars, 2 djembes.
Hobbies other than the obvious: Music, Reading, Keeping fit (hmmm, not so much of the keeping fit, actually)
Education: Did Bachelor of Science majoring in Computer Science and Pure Maths. Then Grad Dip Appl Computing... then started a research masters, but gave it away when life got in the way.
Favorite Book(s): Have to get back to you on that one... The Anarchist was the last book I read, quite liked it.
Favorite Movie(s): Lots... Fight Club, Snatch, Lock Stock..., Finding Nemo, Pulp Fiction, Pay It Forward...

You can not retract the button. You need to read the fine print in the contract. Section 3, Page 10, Paragraph 2: "All buttons, once installed, are non retractable and must remain installed until this contract is considered null and void."
Section 7, Page 3, Paragraph 3: "This contract will be null and void in the event of: 1. The sun rises in the west and sets in the east. 2. The earth stops rotating. 3. The south pole because the TOP of the world and/or 4. The party of the first part (Paul) no longer posts on HoP.
I think that covers it!

Rule of thumb. If you're on the west coast, the UK is 8 hours ahead and OZ is roughly 17. OZ also depends on if we are in daylight savings times and such, part of the year they are 15.

pmsl... no bed for this lil pogo... I was working... work, work, work... and... my stupid net connection was too slow, so I got sick and waiting and closed the browser *GASP* yes, really...
gidg... I dunno... I was always taught ladies 1st... but... this is public nakedness we're talking about so and paul already appears to have accepted our fate... so, deal...
oh... and here in qld... we don't have daylight savings... they had a referendum here years back and the state majority voted that it'd fade the curtains too much

Well, here in the good old US of A, our dumb ass of a president has decided that he deserves the level of a god and has changed the amount of daylight savings time that we have to go into November! I repeat: DUMB ASS!!!!
It was bad enough when untold eons ago they changed our lunar calendar to a solar calendar and royally f****d up the whole works, but when you have a Texas redneck decide how long your days are going to be, it's just going too far.
BTW; Is the moon full there? It is here (of course I mean when It becomes night again there) and, wow, is she gorgeous tonight. I led Full Moon ritual tonight and the energy was very strong. I'm so jealous of your Moonfest over there.
I got lucky to find the pagan group that I belong to. We usually only have about a dozen people at a time, though.
I do all of my personal rituals skyclad, though.
Can't wait to add the fire!

couldn't agree more... and someone @ the latest couple moonfests thought so too, cos we've had a serial streaker...
the moon was lovely last night... very nearly full... I was sitting out the back patio area earlier in the evening and it was quite dark... went back out there later on and it was lit up like a christmas tree... all by the light of the moon... lovely

Couldn't agree with you more.
Tonight was my first time leading Full Moon ritual and we couldn't have had a more beautiful night for it. I've been High Priestess now for only about 3 months and I absolutely love it.
I have a great view of the eastern sky (25 1/2 acres of family farmland) so I get an unencumbered view of the moonrise and the sunrise.
