one of my little patients from the floor showed up in clinic today. She's this ADORABLE teeny little 5-year-old with a genetic syndrome. Normal intelligence. CUUUUTEST thing you ever saw with a Trinidadian accent. SUCH a sweet little girl. She handled her stay in the hospital with cheer, grace, and bravery and she's delightful.
And during her stay I started to fall in love with her, as I do with many of the kids.
She showed up today and she ran to me and jumped into my arms. And today, perhaps more than ever before in my life, I learned what it truly feels like to love a child. Now I know perhaps just a tiny fraction of what parents must feel towards their children.
I'm excited that I'll get to watch her grow up for a while.

I fell in love with my friend's baby the other night. She was having trouble keeping him quiet and content so I took him and walked with him in my arms around the house singing Sigur Ros songs to him (in Icelandic & Hopelandish). 10 mins later he was snoozing away contently in my arms.
I started getting broody again after that. Though I'm being headhunted as a babysitter. Would be glad to if I didn't live about 50miles away...

I need to run down a second parent for my own some-day-to-be little ones too, but i reckon i prolly will have a harder time of it cos i'm so picky....
I'll never be as doting as the dear doctor tho

You dont need a second father! You just need a woman who would produce a wonderful child and be a wonderful mother. You dont need to sleep with a woman to be their child's father!
That way you will have a lot more leeway in regards to choosing a partner and there will be a whole lot less problems in regards to issues between mum and dad. There would be no risk of having a broken home.
