Posted:So I got home from a night at work, set down my stuff, took off my white coat, turned around, and was about to step into my living room when I stopped dead...

Because my stocking foot had almost come down directly on top of one rather dead-appearing mouse. eek

Now, rodents don't bug me in general, although the dead variety tends to put me off a bit more than the living variety. Live mouse=cute. Dead mouse=not cute.

This leads me to the rather interesting question of 1) what killed it and 2) why did it choose to die in the middle of my living room? Although I suppose the middle of the living room is better than under the sofa where it might take days to figure out where that smell is coming from (and having cleaned up one several-days-dead large rat in my college days, I can tell you that you have never *seen* so many goddamned maggots and other assorted creepy-crawlies!).

But EWWWWW...

As you know, mice can't throw up so once they eat rat poison it's just a matter of time...

Or maybe he was just simultaneously awestruck by the gayness and neatness of your apartment and couldn't handle it. wink

Sorry Mike. I'm kind of immune to finding rats and mice. I have a cat that stacks canal rats up under my dining table as gifts for me. Yuck indeed!

I saw my cat eat a mouse whole once, I was so proud of her she was like my child we were unseperable, it was fasinating watching her toy with it

you're lucky, mine just seperates the head and drags it across the floor leaving hte body behind, unfortunatly 9/10 times whats inside the body can decide whether to stay with the body or go with the head, you'd be amazed how long a mouse gut really is

If it wasn't still alive and twitching, then there was a neat little pile of intestines on the stairs/under the kitchen table. I think it was the stomach, large intestine and small intestine. Maybe my cats were picky wink

we discovered mice had invaded my apt. I can't deal with the little bastards dead or alive, but I still couldn't do the mouse trap thing (just sooo gruesome) so my bf got these glue traps where they stick to them, so I thought I could detach them from the glue and set them free outside...yeah that didn't really work at all, instead at like 2am I hear eeehhh eehhhh eeehhh and the glue is so strong...eeeewwww I cringe now thinking of it, my bf just put it in a bag and put it in the trash outside, I know it's inhumane but I didn't know what else to do...so theres my lil mouse story...
