Posted: Hi! My name's Annika Ronay, I'm seventeen and currently living in Switzerland as a foreign exchange student. I first started learning poi when I took a polynesian dance class for three years in California. After coming to Switzerland I made a set of practice poi and started learning more tricks from HOP. Other than practicing poi, I love singing, acting, skiing, climbing, ice skating, dancing, and learning languages. I can speak German almost fluently now, and I can understand the dialects. I'm also learning Italian, French, and my friend is teaching me Portuguese. My hometown is El Portal California, which I know no one's ever heard of because there's only 635 people. It's only 14 miles away from Yosemite National Park. If I wasn't in Switzerland this would be my senior year in high school, but now I have to go back and do another year. Oh well. I plan on majoring in dramatic arts and theatre, and hopefully have a job in musical theatre when I get older. My all time favorite food is chocolate, which is part of the reason I chose Switzerland.
