Well, the following moves have very little use to them, but I thought somebody might get something out of it, so here goes:

Pendulum Tangle/Thruwrap

Basic Idea: use one poi to push the other one in a pendulum motion

Example: swing a pendulum in left side plane. Spin other poi in front wall plane anticlockwise (from your perspective). As the pendulum crosses the wall plane bring the other poi across the far side of the pendulum and tangle it so it goes under neath your hand and then outside your arm. As it comes outside the arm, move the whole mess into the rear wall plane, untangle and repeat in reverse, the aim being to maintain a pendular motion without too much messiness

as I said, a silly move, and one I have yet to get clean...

---------------------------

Using a pendulum to keep one poi head at the centre of another's rotation

Basic idea: A marginally prettier move, and one which looks vaguely aesthetic with fire or glow, this merely involves spinning one poi while keeping the other poi head next to your hand. So that you end up with a circle with a dot in it.

In theory, you could do this with isolations (i.e isolate the spinning poi while following the isolating hand with your other poi head, thus achieving an isolation-esque appearance while having your hands in different positons to normal isolations)

nice one - i like tick-tocks too smile

i do something similar to the first one:

spin one poi in front wall plane and with the other swing a pendulum from back wallplane (over the arm/shoulder into front wallplane) and when it swings back into the path of the other poi, airwrap and on exit, return to the start position.

i like extending the airwrap into a buzzsaw hyperloop to the other side to get both poi doing circles again and ending the pendulummy stuff.

[wow, i think that's just about the worst description of a poi move i've ever typed!]

just to be tidy, here is a link to another thread that started off being about pendulums but quickly descended into the definitive post-modern poi discussion thread:

coleman:sorry should've done a search or thought about it a bit more: I was looking through all the 'tangle' links for something similar. D'oh! rolleyes

I think I've seen the first move in the spinach sessions somewhere as done by rob? They are certainly much more lovely to watch than the moves above..

Second move, I think I might understand what you mean...

OFS: already been done.... well, tried, anyway, when Mr. Chutney came to Cambridge. You can also do a one person version, which is quite fun and silly

Cool. It was just a random idea. Nice to know other people are thinking the same way.

I love pendulums. I love them soooooooo much.

I love them so much I made sticks do pendulums too.

Then I made them do anti-gravity pendulums.

Then I decided to integrate them with some cirles (pooo) too.

Then I decided that poncing about with pendulums was farrrrrr more important and more importantly, enjoyable than circles.

My favourate stupidity: BTB Waistwrap Pendulum. (done with either hand in pendulum, or for extra silly points, both.) While poncing. Preferably.

"More poncing" ubbangel

Its so much fun. It makes people think you're a twat before you blow their minds with endless fishtails and flowers.

Anti-gravity pendulums? I'm not even gonna ask... ubbloco
