I have flagged for some time, but just recently bought some practice poi. Feeling somewhat confident with the progress I was making, I decided to replace the 'softer' ends with glow sticks. Whoa, the speed increase was at least 3x, without even trying. So I thought, 'why not see how fast these things will go'. As expected, I hit myself, but kept at it. THEN, I wacked myself in the head so hard, I literally staggered and thought I might pass out. The glowing liquid painted a lovely abstract picture about my livingroom. After that, I put on my climbing helmet and safety glasses.

All in the name of beauty that's alive in each of us!

I'm what you refer to as a NEWBIE (did I spell newbie correctly?)
I have danced my entire life, except for the years from 0-3. I have never owned a television, so I'm pretty clued out. I'm 42, and a red hot Scorpio woman who is also very grateful to be cusping Sagittarius. When I'm not dancing, I'm in my studio creating sculpture and sculptural architectural embellishments. I practice yoga and love sharing my dance knowledge with my partner who has taken up flagging and poi. The awesome beauty about a thorough dance training, is that I am always aware of every movement of every part of my body as each body part is harmoniously doing its own thing. Every finger and toe has a purpose, as does the level or angle of the elbow or knee, etc. I have been flagging for several years, but just began poi in September. A climbing injury prevented me from using 2 flags together, until the injury healed. This gave me the opportunity to focus on working with a single flag; I LOVE IT! This dynamic of one-on-one is just like having a dance partner with whom I can be intimate, seductive, playful or bold. From my observations and the feedback I receive, I can say, my flag dancing is truly unique and I hope my flagging brings joy to the hearts of many. OK, a couple of other details about myself, I have 4 fabulous dogs and 2 weird cats. 3 neighbours who think I'm strange (I've only got 4 neighbours). I'm vegetarian, love star gazing, hiking, travelling, reading, driving really fast, walking really slow, smiling and laughing.

Well you may think me stupid or whatever. And that's your right I'm sure. But i personally can't read your 2nd post, as it is just one amorphous body of text with no let up, nor reprieve, breaks, breathing space or mercy given.

If you add a few line breaks into it (aim for the end of a sentence or preferrably subject, for clarity) then it will be far easier to read and people are more likely to pay attention and ask you nice questions etc.

Just a thought.

Hello!

Welcome to HoP!

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Okay, I've added a few breaks and broke it down to point form, mostly. I was trying for a congested block of words and I guess I succeeded. Now that I have separated the congestion into lines for easier digestion, will you ask me nice things or am I simply two stoopid. No paragraphs(,) though?
