It depends on the details really, such as where it would be.
Personally, I'd like to be camping somewhere with a very large and warm tent, I've always wanted to do that for christmas smile

Posted:Well.. the plans knocking around at the moment are...

* Open House from Fri 23rd - Tues 27th (to allow for easier transport)

* In South Wales (So there will be Sheep smile , and hopefully snow)

* Formal wear for dinner, fun and games after (Monopoly, Risk, Twister, Charades...ritual watching of the Snowman)

* Scrumptious dinner, with nut roast, mulled wine, roast parsnips, stuffing, yorkshire pud's, christmas pudding with paraffin...i mean brandy (and compulsary sprouts)

* Boxing Day walk in the mountains, with snow spinning and juggling. etc...

* Secret Santa (with no get-out "smelly's" allowed)

* All the traditional Christmas, with your favourite family (us!) and none of the hassle.

* Plus any other exciting ideas you may have?

This is early planning, to allow for arrangement of transport, numbers planning, formulating excuses to break the news to your family,

It'd be helpful to know, sometime in the next month or two who's definately coming (Sir Sheep, i take it you're a definate - you don't have a choice in the matter - we need your help on the vegan cuisine), and who's interested

Although its a shame I won't be able to make it.
Last christmas my parents were arguing over who would have me...so I worked christmas day and boxing day, so neither could have me...

This year things are going to go better..

Its a brilliant idea though, and will make christmas special for the people who wouldn't necessarily enjoy that time of year smile

F*cking badass!

As much as I have played with the idea of spending christams away from my extended family, I dol believe that I want to be at home with all the aunts, uncles, neices, nephews, etc on Christmas day.

The possibility of a vegan christmas dinner, to be honest, <this line sounded harsher than I wanted it to> eek

3rd and 4th helpings of beef, turkey and sausages wrapped in bacon to me is almost what makes christmas for me. redface

Its an idea that im not, not interested in, but I tihnk at the moment I would just feel wierd being anywhere else than round a really long table at my grandads house for Christmas day.

sausages wrapped in bacon

Why do we only ever have those at christmas? I think they're far too nice to only be eaten once a year.

*runs off to wrap up some sausages*

Posted:sounds like a damn fine idea. Is stuffing vegan? you have to have stuffing... i wouldn't say i'm a definate because christmas is usually cancelled in my house up until the last minute, but south wales is not really that far from me.... in that i live there, or at least i will be again by christmas.... on the games front, we would also need jenga, and also uno! the wonder of uno.... and someone has to volunteer to play dad and fall asleep in the armchair after lunch.... (so no spinning for them, unfortunately.)

as for sleeping...maus you have been to my house haven't you...how many do you reckon we could squidge in?
depending on how 'friendly' people don't mind being...pink....? reckons about 20ish as there is loads of floor space.
That's why we thought we would throw the idea around early, so we could get some sort of idea of how many might be interested, some people may just want to crash one night...or four.
The whole point is it is to be another option for those who may want to try something a little different yet traditionalish during the festive season.
Pink and I are doing it anyway and any who care to join us shall be welcome....Yay

How about renting a couple of those 'stay on a farm' type doofers (depending on numbers). Would obviously cost more but there would be ample space so less tripping over people potential.

I was going to try to spend Christmas with my Mum this year seeing as how I haven't for about 7 - 8 years and have been having vegetarian/vegan Christams dinners at my Dad's which just aren't the same (no offence to vegetarians/vegans) but i understand that she might be spending Christmas in a hotel somewhere this year (typical).

Becci, why is there no cake next to your name?
Happy Birthday Sweetie

Put me down as a possiblity, I'll have to see whats happening this year.

Oh and vegan christmas...what do you eat instead of a turkey? Tofu? lol uuugh
