Since I have been spending a lot of time the past couple weeks reading numerous and varied posts, I thought I'd say
to everyone and introduce myself.
Name: Jerry
Age: Barely 35
Location: Maryland, USA
Occupation: Science
Spinning poi for: Less than 2 weeks
Hobbies/Interests: Poi, mountain biking, music (almost every kind), live music, crosswords, reading, tons of other stuff...
Fav books: Jitterbug Perfume - Tom Robbins, A Million Little Pieces - James Frey
Fav movies: The Big Blue, Amelie, Shaun of the Dead
Fav bands/artists: Meat Beat Manifesto (cannot wait to spin well to them), B-52's, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, Sleater-Kinney, too many others...have a bit of a weakness for CD's
If you want to know anything else, just be nosy, I'm a friendly guy. If you cross the line, I'll just let you know and won't answer!
I want to send out a BIG thanks
to everyone for all of the helpful posts on HoP. They have been a big help with the baby steps that I have taken so far. I am looking forward to the poi journey that I've started out on!!!!

So, weather changed a bit, was a tad chilly and the tiniest bit rainy, but what a night. Got to burn twice and both times were so awesome. What a rush. The sound was so consuming. Loved it! Don't know when my next chance to burn will be, but cannot wait.

) Kate, I was introduced both to some fun people for spinning and also to tribe.net (which to be fair I also learned about from another post on this site, I think by mtbeer). Anyway, thought I would post a link to Jerry's tribe profile .
Stop by for a visit, though don't expect much of anything yet, as I have just moved in and everything is still in boxes.

I am well and happy (aside from a really sore neck for the past couple of days...hopefully this heating pad will help out)! I certainly hope you are well and happy too.
It has been a while since I have been on the site regularly, and been a while since I have been spinning. I think mostly because my iPod died
and I have not had it looked at yet.
But, I am getting ready to go on a week's vacation during which I will spin every day and hopefully burn every night, so I am very excited about that. But will not see the boyfriend for a whole week, so that stinks.
Have you read "The Time Traveller's Wife"? It is an excellent read that I could not put down.
How're things with you these days?

Been having lots of fun playing with new toys. Going back to start doing dance properly again in October, which is fairly daunting but no doubt I'll slip right back into it all!
No boyfriend for a whole week! That'll never do, can't he go with you?
Is that the book by Audrey Niferrr(something or other) ?
It was recommended to me only yesterday in fact, by a friand. Havn't read it myself yet but it is on the list.
Read The Road Less Travelled again the other day- good book if you havn't read it, its also completely different to a lot of books I've read. Hard going in parts but well worth it.
