Slap me down if I'm being blind, but I done some searches & couldn't find a Green Gathering 2005 thread... So here it is!

Gotta be my fave of all the festies, I been going for 10 years now! The best way I can describe it is the greenfields of Glastonbury, without the rest of the comercial monster that Glasto has become. It's a full on tree hugging, crystal rubbing, green thinking escape from reality. biggrin

https://www.big-green-gathering.com/index.html

This is where I first saw fire swinging & got my first staff & is always the bigest source of inspiration for me. The people you meet there are just so friendly! I had an ace time stewarding for it in 2003, but this year stuff like the EJC's taken priority & I don't even know if I can get the time off work for it, but anyways I'm still curious... Who's going?

Oooohh I really really really want to go as it's my favourite festie too! I've also been going for a bout 10 years, it was the first festival I ever went to...however I'll be in India this year so will have to miss it, but next year. And I first picked up poi there too, so I'll always hold it close to my heart! Have fun anyone else who's going biggrin

I reckon it'll be good.

I think someone was looking for theatrical performers to get involved on a thread in social.

I'm giving this one a miss this year because I've already got Big Chill tickets, which is the same weekend (I do believe).

I'm glad this thread is here.. thanks Devilstar for starting it.

I currently have a young daughter who is travelling in UK, staying with friends and family, in various places; has just been to Buddhafields. She told me just now in a phone call that she has heard about the Big Green Gathering... and that she would like to go. Now, this girl would be turning 15 there... she's THAT young! I have felt comfortable with her travelling so far because she has been under the care of people I know... but of course I am very hesitant about her going anywhere out of that orbit. Maybe I could find someone I know who could accompany her, but in the meantime I would like your considered opinions about this Festy and stuff like it's size, safety, drugginess etc. I hear what you've all said about it being lovely! I believe you... I'm just asking for some feedback as to how it might be for a very young one..

She is not a spinner, but as her bro and lots of other people in her life are, she's a bright lovely kid... but young and like a lot of young ones, thinks she's safe everywhere....

Thanks, I'd appreciate some honest, helpful feedback Here or PM me if you like. smile

Hi all,

If anyone needs a car parking ticket for Big Green we have a spare one or two (£5 cheaper than they'll be at the gate) - pm or email me if anyone needs one.

Yay! Big Green! This festival truly is the best. Can't wait!

Well,

so far,

this thread has helped a lass who wanted to go to a festy end up with Serious Crew!

Her brother's ex's flatmate, the flatmate's mates, one of whom is a sunnybeam. One mate brings a circus, another one brings their sister, mum and sister's kids. Mum's mate gives the lass a lift... and a big circle turns round to (maybe) some Serious Surprises!

All this and te POOKa too!

Crikey! Great thread and Big YUMS to all of you there

And may

this

stay sunny too
