Lol! Woohoo! I'm all Irish biggrin

Thanks for that m'lovely fire types... I'm sure the other lads will be on later... but they're taking part in the St Patricks day parade in Cork.

I am working tonight frown so no vodkas, singing, dancing and madness for me frown

On paddys day last year I was searching for a pub (even a karaoke one) open past 10pm in Savannakhet, southern Laos.
The year before I made potato bread for the ACB hostel in Auckland.
The year before I got some comp tix to the free bar area of the Sydney St Patricks day parade... I passed out around 9pm after drinking from 12 in very hot sun.

And this year... I'm working my ass off in Belfast. Poo.

But nevermind... twiddlee dee, back straight and toes pointed... anyone join me for a jig?!

Take care and have a great party biggrin

Yeush.

My mother claimed that the only reason to celebrate St Patricks' day was the bringing of Christianity to Ireland... rolleyes

I disagree... do the English, Scots and Welsh celebrate the achievements of St George, Andrew and David?!

Celebrating St Patricks day is Irish people celebrating all the good things about being Irish. A sense of humour. Strength. Community. A lack of bullsh!t. Songs and dancing. (well, this is what it's supposed to be anyways).

The drinking thing comes from the fact that most Irish people meet their friends in the pub...

Three of my closest friends have red hair, they hated it growing up, now they're realising how different and great it is biggrin

Heh... one of my radically political Irish buddies says "Wishing a truely Celtic person a Happy St. Patrick's day is a bit like wishing an American Indian a Happy Columbus day"... but she's a bit radical like that. smile

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.
