Posted:In space an opposing force is required. I can't remember which film, but this dude drifts away from the space ship, so he lobs a wrench into space and the opposing force pushes him back towards the shuttle. Its an environment free of the laws of gravity...and of atmosphere, but not the laws of kinnetic motion. I suppose that will only work in a vacuum. As if you threw a wrench on Earth, it'd just hit some one in the nads(Dodgeball)..or fall pretty fast.

a pschological question would be more like, "why are people obsessed with sex" (which could also qualify as philosphical now that I think about it...)

As for a pschological question - if a bird is being freeze dryed in the vacume of space does it wish that it had stolen the childs crips rather than its banna sandwich?

>What do you think about the state of the Earth?
>I'm optimistic.
>So why do you look so sad?
>I'm not sure that my optimism is justified.

actually, the bird wouldn't survive due to the lack of pressure and air, the bird would explode unless fully contained in a space suit, thus defeating the purpose. but it would be neat if id could happen.

actually the exploding part wouldn't happen - excruciating pain from a worst case scenario or the bends and collapsed lungs yes, that probably leading to giddyness from oxygen deprivation. You (or a bird) would suffocate before any tissue damage from the vaccum exposure caused death. eventually all volitiles (water, gases like nitrogen and oygen, etc) would evaporate out of your (or the bird's) body and basically freeze-dry the body in a state of perfect mumification.

but that is a physiological thing, neither psycological or philisophical, despite all the "p"s, "ph"s, "y"s, and "cal"s bouncing around in common with all those words.

I dunno, i think that just proves the very well known fact that cats are obnoxious and lazy.
Apparently if cants dont get 16 hrs sleep a day they die of exhaustion err i dunno how to spell that word frown

Cheesey and stupid i know.

space = vacuum... so no sound

But ASSUMING seagull was in a place of atmosphere, etc... then yes

but a tree wouldn't

Posted:Why is right. Sound needs a medium to travel through wink Because sound uses compressions and rarefactions in the medium in which it's traveling, and that there is a vacum in space (thus nothing to compress or rarefact) it wouldn't produce sound.

And on the topic of dogs and cats, why do people have to choose one over the other? I love them both! Although don't tell my girlfriend, she loves cats to death and she thinks I hate them and love dogs instead, just to create balance, otherwise the universe would cease to exist :O

And we all know turtles are the best animal.
There's a good question,
Why are turtles so damn cool?
