well i just had to think about stereotyping people by the way they dress/ look.
i always considered myself to be part of the alternative culture, and i mostly looked it. I had my punk phase, i had my "colorful like a clown on acid" phase, i had my all black phase, and so on. And i was always confronted by some stereotype about the social group that i remotely looked like i belong to. I got hassled by the cops plenty of times for standing out. I had people that i met react negatively to me cause i was dressed all in black with a "hatebreed" t-shirt. i had ppl from "rival" social groups give me crap, Now i caught myself dressing in a way where i dont look like i belong to something. i dress "normally" more and more. And have found that people have a much more neutral approach to me, generally. Cops wont remember me cause i wont stand out of the crowd, optically. so what do you think about this? am i giving in to the mainstream? or am i just sick of being judged by ppl that dont know me? or do i just want my peace?

oppinions?
questions?
rude gestures?
baby elephants?

Orange Bobo, I will try and get you pictures of MY pair of bright orange pants biggrin
They are neon orange, make the entire room a tint of orange when I walk in, and are about 10 times to large for my legs (I can fit a normal sized person inside each leg...)
I wear them every year on my birthday, and it made for an interesting archery meet last year, wearing bright orange pants, neon green top and some sort of hat with bells on it biggrin I did, however, manage to win the meet biggrin I think it's because everyone's aim was thrown off by the brightness of my pants >:D

I've always dressed and groomed myself pretty conservatively. While I have had a few interesting run-ins from the cops (I have had to run, stark naked, from the police on not one but two occasions in my life) I have far fewer such stories than my funkier-looking friends.

Ultimately the way I dress and groom does not change the absolute freak I am under my tame exterior.
