Posted: In my earlier days of spinning I always wondered what other kind of people did it, where they were from, what they were like, etc...I was looking at the articles and I noticed the poll "Are We Born Spinners?" which dealt with astrological signs and the ratios in spinners I thought maybe we could have another poll or maybe just a big thread about what everyone's level/area of education is. I know we've got all sorts of people in here from Doctors to people who perform for a living and I was just kinda curious. I know that both juggling and spinning have a fairly diverse group of people in them, but I've never really had the chance to meet many in person. I'm sure you all know Canada has a very little (try no) scene for either one. I think the people on the other side of the pond might have a better idea than I do, but still, it's fun to read through all of it front of you.
PS. If this should have been in Social Chat rather than Discussion could someone move it? I figure there is possibility for indepth discussion and debate here but I'll leave it up to an op to move it if they feel it should be).

Posted: I have various GCSEs a couple of A-levels a BSc (hons) in Environmental Biology and am currently reading for my PGCE (teacher training) in Environmental Science and Biology.
Rather than look at this from a level of education perspective I think it would be more interesting to view things from a learning type perspective first i.e.:
I’d hypothesize that most jugglers are visual learners bordering on the kinestic. That means that they have great spatial awareness and dexterity. They learn best by watching and then by doing rather than learning by listening.
Since most teachers are visual learners themselves most school lessons are pitched to other visual learners. Therefore, the few audio learners and the majority of people (who are kinestic learners) are not as well catered for. This bias follows into university where the majority of people are visual learners. If the above hypothesis is correct then higher education will be the logical place to find jugglers.
What we need here is a psychologist or psychology student – this would make an interesting dissertation.
Well that’s my penny’s worth, Stoo.
p.s. I also went to an inner city school and come from a very working class background – there’s always time to juggle!
