lads and ladies.

i know nothing, and i mean nothing about dv recording. but i am bringing a camera and a 30gb usb drive.

how much footage you reckon i could get. or does it depend on the type of camera. of which i have no idea.

how many hours/minutes do you get for a gig?

well a dv tape is about 60 mins (or at least the most comon tapes i use are) now when i rip that tape, i use full quality dv rips, so a full tape will kill off about 15GB of a drive in full avi dv quality

so you would maybe get about 180 to about 220 mins of footage on a drive

what im going to do is take lots of spare tapes, and worry about ripping it when i get back to work

i might rip it to VHS and then post it to blue, saves hassel!

hey man thats just me, but i think its better to ripp at a hight quality level, so you are only losing quality when yuo produce at the end, not tryingto make up for bad quality

but dont take my word on it, ask some others, im just weird

'pparently I am. But I'm still a toddler at heart...

making a video is a good plan mech, I will go with that. have camera will slack is how the world is, but I think the world needs more of your form of slackin'...

Plus I need to get editin' the other footage... Hmmm plus take more...

i've read all the sci-fi books in at least three of the edinburgh public library. All of my own, and all of my flatmates. and all of the masterworks series so far. (Apat from the two alternate histories, not a big fan) And that wasn't exactly a hard task, considering I read most of them in school.

I assume with such an allstar cast, we'll be lighting things on fire on one of the weekend nights?

The fireplate is looking forward to its UK premier.

Well, shall we go?
