yup, that's what my middle name (alvheid) means in old norwegian
i tried poi for the first time this autumn, got addicted, and some days ago i lit them up too i didn't burn myself, that must be a good thing 
but off course, still much more for me to learn

Hello and welcome! Your school sounds like an amazing place. Do you learn spells and play Quidditch too?

oh, just remembered! when in may are you in bergen? may 17. is the norwegian national day, with parades and stuff, and in the weeks before may 17. you will see a lot of people, 18-19 years old, in the same red or blue clothes celebrating they've (almost) finished school and can go to the university in the autumn. it's a tradition we have and they sometimes do weird things in public.

Last time I was in Norway was January! And it was actually at that time warmer than in Germany. Can you imagine me packing all my warm clothes, tights (I haven't worn any since kindergarten!!!!) and boots just to find out it was actually "only" -5°C for a week? But it was snowing at the Holmenkollen, so all was fine

I think I know one other spinner from Norway, she is called Inger Marie. but I believe she's going to study in Japan next year. (oh wait a minute, maybe she doesn't spin at all... and I just met her in the same time I met some who did... hmmm, must ask her next time on msn).
anyways, don't get distracted by people getting distracted on this board. and you'll go a long way.

I do hear Norway is lovely though, and I've apparently got an open invitation to stay at a friend's place should I ever go. All I need is the couple of thousand dollars a plane ticket costs..

hmmm, it looks like my friend inger marie wasn't a poier after all.
she had played with the idea and swung a poi or 2 on holidays.
but my asking her about it has inspired her, she ordered/bought some poi and is starting to learn properly now.
and she does live in bergen.
