i am at work and can see lots of other poor fools sitting in front of computers with telphone headsets on selling people books, my computer is black, hmm, my poi are with me! (lunchtime spinning) oh, and there is a cup of water next to me aswell

I can see my beautiful puppy sleeping curled up in a ball on the chair next to me. Lots of CDs that should be in their cases not spread all over the desk. Guppies in a fish tank that needs more water. Hmm I can see way too much mess that needs cleaning up.. I'm gonna stop looking now Hehe

Ive got my grey cat named Atmos sleeping on my lap, I can see my Tibetan Thanka directly in front of me, and a stained glass window to the right. Its night time.
I have a Wipeout 3 poster to my left with a Rainbow serpent 2004 poster to my far left.

I can see my 21 flat screen monitor and my huge dell pc on my desk,
I can also see three walls of my 2.3 meter squared cubicle that are a horrid wine color.
I design the layout of these damn offices, you'd think management would give me a better spot.
There is a dilbert joke tacked onto one wall.
On the other hand at home, we have wireless dsl (new this week), so i can wonder around the house with my laptop, neked if the mood should please me. now theres a view

I can see:
two chinese women who I share an office with (both have thermoses on their desks - one white ceramic, the other brushed aluminum - , and they face each other, both on profile to me, with their monitors back to back)
my peice of crap work computer
a bunch of shelving units which provide the only real diversity against the white walls
a calander that has the nine planets on it and Sprities trip here (that starts later this month) and our trip to Italy marked in green and red respectively
some books (a couple space physics texts, some german language instructional texts, and my guide books for africa)
on the same shelf as the books are half a dozen plasic soda bottles I need to take back sometime to get the deposite for them
my 200 gig external hard drive (only 30 gigs left! time for some house cleaning...)
zillions of old print out on my desk that I need to sort out and get rid of the bulk of them
my orange and black backpack with my poi and juggling balls inside
out the window past the chinese ladies I can see a building built in the late 1800s that is for now and most of the rest of the summer covering in scaffolding
my coffee cup with a big yellow and black cartoon bumble bee with ridiculously small wings painted on it.
my earphones for listening to MP3s whilst I program
thru the door I can see the combo printer/conference/break room with both printers visible as well as an overhead projector and a fire extinguisher. I can also see thru the door in the opposite end of that room down the corridor leading to other offices.
and my sneakers are sitting under my L shaped desk just to my right.
I can see:

I'm at work, in a boring office with no windows
On my metal desk sits my computer box and two 21 inch flat panel LCD monitors. I also have a laptop plugged in right next to those monitors (I do a lot of visual editing). I've got my purse on top of a travel guide for Italy, the phone and answering machine, a half full cup of water, and various papers piled on top of the computer box, under the travel guide, and under my elbows as I type this.
Above the desk is a bookcase mounted to the wall with a couple books and folders on it. Next to me is a small partition and another metal desk, leather chair, and old computer on top of it. I can also see an empty metal desk and leather chair, a wooden desk (lab table actually) with a computer and 2 monitors on it, 2 electrophoresis gel image scanners, and HPLC machine, a sink, 3 color printers behind me, and lockable bookcase storage unit, a wooden bar stool, 2 other computers hooked up to the various scanners, a vent hood which produces ever-so-lovely aromas in here from time to time, and a partition blocking my view of the only other person in here. The floor is a white industrial type with little gray flecks, the walls are white, and all the bookcases (there are some above each desk and lab space) are an off white color. Oh, and there's an electrical outlet in the wall high above my desk.

( well too much of it for my liking in my own unit:) and got a big asian brass gong with carved dragons on it, to the side of me that was a graduation pressie, my tv n stereo n house stuff infront of me, and ive got a 4 ft tank behind me with my discus fish swimming happilly away behind me:)
and on my hall wall i cans ee all the piccies of my friends and places ive been to around the world:)
hehe, and oh did i mention the mess?

my glare screen with sticky fingerprints all over it
a little red handpainted egg from croatia, hanging on the side of the screen
my headset
yellow stickies reminding me of stuff i'm supposed to do but couldn't be arsed
my dutch dictionary
a variety of mugs all full of pens & highlighters
a little glass egg-shaped paperweight
a dirty big grey cubicle divider thingy, but i can also see over it, it's right at eye level
my colleague
the sun shining outside
the IT department next door (glass partition. sometimes i see the guy who sits with his back to the glass scratching his arse. he does that a lot)
the fax machine & photo copier
a little frog!!
i only noticed it now, i swear. it's sitting on top on my computer (not the monitor, the other bit with all the bits that do the computery stuff) and i've no idea how it got there....
a box of chocolates on top of the filing cabinets
my sports bag with my tai chi gear for tonite.
i've just opened the bag and can now see 2 pair of practice poi (so i'm not the only one who carries poi to work, phew!)
