Hey guys...
I have been given the opportunity for the job of my dreams... I am going for a job as a part of the learning and development team at work.
I have to give a ten min presentation and I am going to use powerpoint and also do handouts and things like that.
I have been told that I am allowed to do a presentation on ANYTHING I WANT... so you guessed it... FIRE TWIRLING!! hooray..
I have some ideas but Im trying to think of a good angle... I will talk about the basics of staff and poi and blah blah blah...safety and icky firebreathing But I need some kind of graphs and stuff... any ideas? I thought that I could do some kind of graph comparision between the amount of people who twirl and who use staff compared to who use poi ... what do you reckon guys?

I spoke to arsn and we decided to not take the holidays.
we are going to wait another month until the secondment is over and THEN go away... sigh. Oh well I suppose that work is important too, but not as important as arsn.
so thats what is happening doc... not happy about it but arsn understands completly which I am so thankful for. I have the BEST hubband in the world.

I know you do. And I have to say I envy the love that you two share. The fact that arsn's also a cutie doesn't hurt matters.
See this folks? It's a rare, precious, and beautiful thing. It's true love.
Look at it well...and remember it.
And know that if any couple in the world deserves it, it's Valura and arsn.

so i hope you're not too bummed about not going away this weekend! sometimes you have to do the thing that seems less attractive - cos in the end it may all work out the way you want it to! and to both of you! (& extra sprinkles of luck for the job!) do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and good to eat!

So when will you find out about the Job then Valura? I hope you get the job all crazy chickens dream of
And if you have to wait even longer than a year to have your anniversay, it'll just make it all that more special when you celebrate it on holiday and the rest will be even more deserved. Let's relight this forum

I should find out today mr custom... or tomorrow at the latest.. I have my fingers crossed. Anyway even if I dont get it Im actually doing the job for the next two weeks anyway.. they are throwing me in the deep end... yay

Didnt get the job guys...
apparently there were 9 applicants and it came down to me and another person.
The manager said that the last thing that pushed it the other persons way is one simple thing... she asked if anyone had had experinece with the topic that she was speaking on...that was it.
Im not disapointed really, Im happy that I have the experince now cause I am still working with them for the next month...
thanks for all your support guys...
ya know something that the manager said to me? That I should be a motivational speaker for adults with low self esteem or recovering after surgery or drug abuse etc etc.... she said I inspired HER! how nice is that?

I dont know these technicalities, im a student so i dont have to work.

Oh, that's a shame. Sorry to hear you missed out. And only a cats whisker away. Its all good though because you have gained from the experience and now you can build on it. Good luck in the future. Maybe the manager was right and you should think about setting up on your own. Have a look around and see what groups are looking to hire speakers. Being a "life Coach" could make you mega bucks and let you have plenty of time left over for spinning!
