So these are some questions Ive had but never saw answered.
1) The requirements say that music has to be heard on tape. Does this mean that the music had to have been recorded via the camcorder mic or can I just edit a track over video as per usual video editing?
2) Also says we need consent from music artists. Does this mean that pretty much any commercial music is out? If not, how do I go about getting consent from a big time band and do they normally freely give out consent to these types of requests?
3) How bad is the music used if you dont send any?
4) Can I send in a CD with the video in .avi format or does it have to be on tape? If it has to be on tape, how do I edit via computer then record back onto mini-dv?
5) If I dont edit at all, will Malcolm edit it?
6) If I edit it perfectly, will Malcolm destroy it?
7) What would be your idea of a perfect vid for Col 6?

I'm not Malcolm or anybody in charge but i might have some clue on this subject. please correct if i'm wrong. I'll try to answer a few of those questions
2) all commercial music is out. 99,9% of big time bands (or their record labels) don't give permissions to use their music. If you have music from your friends unsigned band or whatever, use that.
3) depends on your taste. personally i wouldn't risk it.
4) i sent mine on cd. and it's possible to put a edited vid back onto mini-dv.
5) the video needs to be 4 minutes. so don't send 10 minutes of material with a lot of useless footage hoping that he'll do the work and take out the best 4 minutes, pause/rec editing works for starters.
